Fandom Snowflake Challenge - Day 3
Day 03
In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have selected 3 fanworks created this year that I was particularly happy with.
BtVS: One Fate-ful Summers Morning
I wrote this story for the Siblings Round at
mutli_genfic, a fandom community that just started in 2015 where participants request characters/prompts and the mod assigns the story prompts to each participant. This story was set during season 2 so it's based on the assumption that Dawn doesn't know Buffy is the Slayer. There's humor, cuteness, sisterly bickering, and weird food combinations.
BtVS: The Visit
This dark/angsty little Drusilla fic is one that I loved writing, but I felt like it was a little under-appreciated. Again, this story was written for a genfic community so the prompts were given to me by someone else (who actually never gave me any feedback on the story. :/.) I was initially reluctant when I was first given the prompts, but eventually I found inspiration by the poem "A Visit From St. Nicholas" and I rewrote a portion of it in Drusilla's voice. Drusilla can be a challenging character to pin down. She's insane, but she can also be quite elegant and cunning. I'm very proud of what I was able to do with the prompts I was given.
BtVs: The Killer In Me (The Tough Love Remix)
There is something about the Which Willow challenge that makes me feel like I need to level up a little as an author. I always try to bring my 'A' game when I sign up for this challenge and I was excited to answer the question: "What if Willow had killed Glory in Season 5's "Tough Love?" I focused my energies on the scene in the house where Willow goes toe-to-toe with Glory. Viewers of the show know that Giles is the one who really kills Glory after they find out she shares a body with Ben, but we also know that Spike is one of the few who isn't fooled by the glamour. In my story, I used Spike to help Willow. He offers her comfort and explanations. It's a bit AU, of course, but I'm really thrilled with how the final product turned out.
