First Day Jitters Aren't To Blame

I had my first two hour training session with the Wisconsin Early Autism Project today!

I would say that it went well.

The client is a lot of fun and he seems to be open to the challenges presented by his therapists. There were a few things I found confusing in terms of his treatment plan, but I'm sure that with time I'll pick up on those details after a few more sessions of observation and participation. I also think the three hour line therapist training class I have to attend next week will help with that.

The only thing that really frustrated me was the discovery that certain shifts (for instance, every other Saturday) are done at a location further away from me. This information was not provided to me in the packet that HR sent out so learning it threw me off balance a little. I did call the HR manager as soon as I got home though (Yay Proactive!) Apparently, the HR manager sent an email to my direct supervisor to tell her that I wouldn't be at those sessions. They're going to discuss it though and get back to me.
