I like how you've blended the edges of the head into the background and wings. Some people forget to do that. One thing I'd suggest is playing around with the skin tone. He is so much paler than the base, it's really obvious in the photoshopped image. I've never tried editing skin tone...maybe play around with the layer settings?

That was exactly where problems were coming. No matter what layer style I was using it still didn't look right and I eventually just gave up on it.

Yeah. What if you play with the midtones/shadows? I've never changed them for an actual photo, only for little pixellated dolls.

Well I know there's the obvious problem of the skin tone.

But yeah, an email would be great. And if you're willing to share some tips about matching skin tones without relying on black and white, that would be awesome too. My email is hel2525@hotmail.com

Oh, by the way, did you see the icon I made you? It's a couple entries before this one.

I like the result. My only adivse would be to play with James Marsters color of skin. Have you played with selective colors?

[identity profile] snogged.livejournal.com 2007-09-07 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Selective color is not my friend but I will certainly give it a try again.

I'm also fully aware of the skin tone problem hence why I stuck it up here for advice from fellow manippers as to how they would deal with the problem.
