Big Bang Theory: Penny and Sheldon

I don't know what it is but since the start of BBT Season 2, I've found myself falling for an unconventional couple.

Penny and Sheldon.

I love the way the bounce off each other. It's comedic but there's a deep caring there.

Prime examples of their possible love:

Penny consoling Sheldon in the stair well when Leonard is having a date with Leslie Winkle.

Sheldon teaching Penny how to play Age of Conan.

Penny going into Sheldon's room. ("Don't go in there. Sheldon's not wearing bottoms.") - *squee*

And when he hugged her in the "Bath Item Gift Hypothesis" it just made my heart felt.

And if you want further proof (or just a giggle), take a peek under the cut. It was something I first noticed browsing through the icons over at sheldon_penny and then my boyfriend graciously made a screencap for me from the scene in question.





*Note: Look at the hip placement. And the fact that Penny's eyes are closed. It just looks so dirty.

We just received the first season of BBT earlier this evening from Amazon. We've only seen a few episodes between the two seasons, but there's enough funny that we felt justified in getting it.

I kind of adore Laurie Metcalf as Sheldon's mom.

"I'm sorry. Did I preface that with 'If it pleases your highness'?"

Oh I'm with you, there's just sth special about Penny/Sheldon. Every interaction between these two characters is made out of awesome. When he hugged her I melted, Sheldon is adorable.

Have you seen this week's episode? There's so much Penny/Sheldon goodness in it :)

I'm finally all caught up with TBBT yay!! =D

While Sheldon and Penny certainly seem to be bonding really well, I still think it's more likely she and Leonard may hook up sometime, considering he's the closest to "normal" in their group. I refer to the episode where his mom visits and he and Penny almost sleep together. Some part of Penny loves Leonard's overall niceness and the way he dotes on her.

That said, I kinda ship Sheldon/Leonard's mom ;) Sheldon and Ramona were awfully cute too until she became the devil..

Given that me and hubby have been huge fans since the first episode and we watch it every week it's on, when Penny did the "lime" thing, we both made sounds that only dogs can hear.

Ultimate fan squee.

And also, we CONSTANTLY quote Leonard's Mom and Sheldon. If one of us ever say "what are the chances" the other always says "is that a rhetorical question or would you like to do the math?" The other pauses and says "I'd like to do the math" and the other says "I'd like that too"

I love my husband.

Leonard and Penny tried the dating thing and it didn't work for them. Yes, they almost hooked up while drunk on tequila and yes, I agree that Leonard is the most "normal"...but I think that's where I have a problem.

It just seems so natural for Penny and Leonard to get together and my love for the unconventional just ships into overdrive

Sheldon and Leonard's mom would be awesome though.
