aaronlisa, who requested this pairing a crazy long time ago and I had a helluva time trying to make it happen for her.
New York still tasted like sewer rats. Time Square still blinded him with twinkling, neon lights. And 75th and Amsterdam still had the same alley tucked between the buildings that still smelled like death and decay.
It had never been a place that felt like home. Home was where he was a hero. A champion who’d fought side by side with Slayers, side by side with witches, side by side with demons, side by side with morons.
New York didn’t know any of those stories.
But as a figure bounced down the stairs in front of him, he did a double take. The hair, the shape, the sparkle in the eyes. There was no mistaking it. This woman looked just like…
“Willow?” The words left his lips before her scent had the chance to assault his nostrils. It was spicy and warm like cinnamon and coffee instead of magical and light like earth and patchouli. Definitely not Willow. Crap.
The girl shook her head, offering him a small smile. “Name’s Lily, actually. But I’m sure you’ll find her soon, dude. You’ve got that hot, tall, dark, and handsome thing going on and I’m sure there’d be girls lined up around the block who’d be more than happy to pretend to be Willow. In fact, I bet Barney could point out a few for you if you want.”
Angel nodded, not sure of where to take the conversation now. It wasn’t like he could just start chatting about the merits of otter’s blood over pig’s blood or the best way to take out a nest of Creath demons.
Lily’s smile widened, catching the hesitation in his eyes. “Or you can tell me all about the real Willow over a beer. It’ll be my treat.”
As he followed her into the bar, the lights of Times Square seemed softer, the streets of New York tasted like cinnamon and coffee, and this little place smelled like a returning heartbeat.
Maybe New York deserved to hear a few stories after all.

Perfectly in character with both them!!
Too bad you haven't put Bones in your drabble offer because Booth /Willow is something I'm dying to read since a long time!!!

I'm so thrilled to know this feels in character. Crossovers are tricky beasts, you know.
As for Booth/Willow...I've been waiting patiently for my muse to give me inspiration for those two. You aren't the only one who'd love to see that.

PS I can take an overocean plane to come to fuss over your muse if you want ^_^
