The first time I thought about it was during the episode "School Hard" when Spike goes to kick in the door where Willow and Cordelia are hiding but nothing actually come from it. Following that, I found The Erotic Adventures of Willow and Spike by Laure Alexander and I was drawn in like a moth to a flame.
2. What I think their challenge is:
Their challenge is the show's off the air. :) But really, because of canon, Willow's sexuality causes a challenge and so does Spike's interest in the Slayer.
3. What makes me happy about them:
When I write this pairing in fanfic, I always tend have Spike help Willow explore the deeper nuances of sexuality. Because I believe that Spike had a thing with Angel at one point in their centuries together, I think he would make a great guru to help Willow understand that it's not just gay or straight. I also think the "William" side of Spike can relate to the nerdiness in Willow.
4. What makes me sad about them:
That Joss never gave them a chance.
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
Can't really think of one.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Willow with Oz and Spike with Angel.
7. My happily ever after for them:
Sex. Lots and lots of romantically awesome sex...with a bit of dirty!naughty thrown in 'cause it's Spike.

Tara's a lesbian. And I'm not sure that Spike could change her tune.

I think she could take care of him and offer him the compassion and genuine care he doesn't get from Buffy. And I think he could bring her further out of her shell.

That Tara's dead. :(
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
mmm...I can't really think of one.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Ghost!Willow with Ghost!Tara and Spike with Angel.

Spike teaches her how to get freaky!

After seeing "Lie to Me" from Season 2 and reading some really great fanfiction.

Angel still has googly eyes for half-baked Buffy.
3. What makes me happy about them:
Their strong potential for angst fic. And that moment when he's poisoned and tells her how much he wants her.
4. What makes me sad about them:
They didn't have enough screen time together.
5. What moment I wish had never happened:

6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Willow with Spike and Angel with Spike. ;)

Willow moves to LA and works with the Angel investigations team.

I gave the pairing some consideration way back during Season 4 but I never felt quite as in love with them as I do now.
2. What I think their challenge is:
Willow's sexual identity issues and Riley's crush on the Slayer.
3. What makes me happy about them:
I think they have a great relationship on the show, especially early on. Plus, he saved her life during "Wild At Heart."
4. What makes me sad about them:
That the writers toned down their friendship to avoid making people think they could be romantically inclined.
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
Riley getting married to Sam.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
I love the Spike and Riley pairing so that would be cool.
7. My happily ever after for them:
White picket fences, 2.5 children, and a fluffy Siberian Husky curled up around their feet as they swing on their porch swing.

After a phone call with Nick (my bf). We were bouncing unconventional pairing ideas around and when this one was mentioned, I was locked in.

Barney's a womanizer and Lily's married to a great man.

They're both sexually adventurous and Lily is the person he counted on when he caught feelings for Robin.
4. What makes me sad about them:
They'll never stand a chance.
5. What moment I wish had never happened:
Lily's turnaround in S5 when she went from cheering Barney/Robin on to making evil plots to destroy them.
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
Barney with Robin and Lily with Marshall.
7. My happily ever after for them:
Lily makes Barney strip for her a la Barney's fantasy of what a wife should be.
