Friends Filtered: Relationship Meme

I'm keeping this friends filtered on account of the fact that it's mostly about Nick and our relationship. If you don't want to read that sort of thing, don't feel bad about skipping this one.

1.How did you meet your partner and how old were you?
I was 18 when Nick and I first met. My friend Kit came to pick me up from my dorm room so I could indulge in my favorite past time (taking a bath!) at his house, but had been warned ahead of time that he had a friend coming over to visit. I took one look at the dreadlocks, the piercings, and the gorgeous, green eyes…and immediately thought he was too hot to be straight.
Lucky for me, he was able to set the record straight with zen-like awesomeness.
2. Was it love at first sight?
More like lust at first sight.
3. Do you want to get married, or if you are married, when did you decide you wanted to?
I do want to get married, but it’s never bothered me that he hasn’t proposed yet (though I’ve been feeling a little more antsy about that lately with the upcoming move and all.) He’s been committed to this through thick and thin and that’s what counts most.
4. What was the first date like?
If I recall correctly, our first “date” was really the first time we hung out together without Kit and Steve around. We took a walk, held a funeral service for my cigarette that cracked in half (yes, we were smokers. We’ve both been smoke-free for the last 4.5 years now), got caught in a freezing rain shower, and headed back to my place for tea and sleep. Also, we watched the Hot Chick.
5. Where did your first kiss take place?
I wanna say Nick’s apartment? It’s hard to be sure though. All I remember is that when our lips lock, I feel the sizzle and the fireworks. :)
6. Dating... local or long distance?
Local when we started. Long distance now. Will be local again in a month or less.
7. Do you know everything there is to know about your partner?
I don’t think I do and I don’t really have a problem with that because there’s always something new to learn.
8. Were your parents supportive of you when you started dating?
My dad was certainly concerned about the number of piercings Nick possesses, but both of my parents were able to overcome that once they saw how polite and respectful he is.
9. Did you wait till marriage to have sex?
No. We did wait a year, however, neither one of us was a virgin at that juncture.
10. How long was it till you got engaged after you started dating?
Couldn’t tell ya.
11. Long or short engagement?
not applicable
12. Did you/do you want to write your own vows?
Maybe?
13. What was one of the things that attracted you to your partner?
The instant calm I felt sitting beside him while watching a movie at Kit’s house.
14. Do you believe he/she is your soul mate?
I’m not sure I believe in soul mates, per se. But I do think he’s someone I can spend the rest of my life with.
15. Are you happy that you are with him/her?
POSITIVELY ABSOLUTELY
16. Place your partner was born and date?
April in Wisconsin.
17. Favorite movie?
I wanna say…True Romance or Pulp Fiction.
18. Occupation?
Graphic Designer for a city newspaper.
19. What is one of his/her favorite things to do on the weekends?
Sleep in.
20. What was his/her first thought of you when you first met?
I believe it was something along the lines of “Who’s the hottie?”
21. Does he/she snore at night while sleeping?
If he did, I wouldn’t be able to sleep beside him because I can’t sleep if someone snores. So thankfully that’s a no.
22. If you could go one place with him/her anywhere in the world where would that be?
I would love to go to the Van Gogh Art Museum in Amsterdam with him. He loves to brag about how much he knows when it comes to Art History, so I wanna be impressed.
23. How often do you have sex?
We really only see each other about 6 days out of the month with our current situation. We tend to have sex as often as we can, but it's not an issue if it doesn't happen. The important thing is that when we do...he can keep up with me. ;)
24. Is he/she the best thing that ever happened to you?
I would say so!
