First thing to pop into my head this morning after wondering exactly how I would answer this question (I was scratching my head a little):

Barney crawling out of the trash bags at the end of the St. Patrick's Day episode.

I just found that gross and not funny at all.

I don't really know how anyone else felt about this one, but I'm assuming that plenty just plain old didn't mind it so that's why it's the answer of the day.

Not much else to say this morning except that I'm wearing my new Halloween shirt today! $5 at Wal-Mart and it's gray with shiny black and purple-metallic bats on it.

ETA: Nutella makes everything better. I spread some on top of a chocolate chip banana muffin and thought I'd gone to heaven.

AAAH! Now I want some Nutella! :)

If you can't afford to go get some...I may have to mail you some. :D

[identity profile] purplefeen.livejournal.com 2010-10-25 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
You can't even buy it here. I have to get it in Memphis whenever I get over there.

Hence the thought that I could mail it...

I can pick up a jar for $3 at the Wal-Mart that's 10 blocks away from my apartment.

The 10 blocks must be good incentive to eat more Nutella! You work off the calories on the walk. LOL

Of course, you're so skinny, you should be eating it by the jar every day!

[identity profile] snogged.livejournal.com 2010-10-25 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't feel particularly skinny, given my last trip to K-Mart required me to buy size 12 pants, but thank you.

Never trust women's clothing sizes. P have pants in 16, 18, 22, 3 & 5 and they all fit.

[identity profile] snogged.livejournal.com 2010-10-25 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I know that well. I have 8's and 10's that fit me just fine still.

I wish pants for women came in normal sizes!

What upset me about this moment was that it was totally played for laughs, but like... that's not where my mind went when I saw it. I was more like DDDDDD: um, scary!? :(

To me, I think that this might have been where I started *really* feeling the angst behind Barney's character -- seeing how very reckless and dangerous his behavior is, and how it's not so much a result of arrogance/over-confidence/self-love, as it is due to his utter *lack* of self-respect, you know?

I don't know, I felt like... a disconnect from the writers here, because they meant it to be funny, and it made me want to cry :(

[identity profile] snogged.livejournal.com 2010-10-25 01:58 pm (UTC)(link)
It was scary! And disturbing.
And not funny at all!

Metallic bats are always awesome!

They are!

You are right - Barney crawling out of the trash bags was more troubling than anything else. That whole episode to me felt uncomfortable for me just in the way they really sunk to new levels of depravity. I don't like it when Ted's a jerk. :(

Hooray for Halloween clothes though! Nice deal, too. :)

I'm glad to know I'm not alone in being a not-so big fan of that episode.
