Snogged: An Insatiable State of Mind

> Day 25 - Something you hated that most people liked.

First thing to pop into my head this morning after wondering exactly how I would answer this question (I was scratching my head a little):

Barney crawling out of the trash bags at the end of the St. Patrick's Day episode.

I just found that gross and not funny at all.

I don't really know how anyone else felt about this one, but I'm assuming that plenty just plain old didn't mind it so that's why it's the answer of the day.

Not much else to say this morning except that I'm wearing my new Halloween shirt today! $5 at Wal-Mart and it's gray with shiny black and purple-metallic bats on it.

ETA: Nutella makes everything better. I spread some on top of a chocolate chip banana muffin and thought I'd gone to heaven.

> Day 23 - Least favourite main cast character

I don't want to have to answer this question. In fact, I would really just like to say that I blame the writers for creating arcs that turn characters I love into characters that annoy me. But I'm not going to play that card today and I'm going to say:

Robin.

When the show first started, Robin was the It girl. She was cool, independent, adventurous, sexy, and placed a high priority on her job. She was a strong female lead, a character that could make a feminist proud, and then...

The writers seemed to lose interest in maintaining this sharpness once her and Ted split. When Barney developed feelings for her, we had no idea that she was possibly feeling the same way. And in Season 5, she became this shallow woman so obsessed with her looks and appearance that it was really hard to watch her.

Bad writers!

That said...I still have mad respect for Mezz's portrayal of Robin in the role-play. Far as I'm concerned, Mezz's Robin is still hotter than all hell.

I watched The Vampire Diaries this morning and I have to say that the show continues to surprise me. I love the little plot twists and Caroline continues to shine in the spotlight as my favorite character. She's just so damn cute.

Also, WOO!

I get to go see my play in seven hours and my sister and I are going to get Himalayan cuisine before hand. I've never tried it before, but Nick assures me that it's awesome.

I realize I've been posting a lot today, but I've got a streak going with the HIMYM meme that I'm not about to let slip so you'll just have to deal with it. :D

Day 22 - Favourite Celeb/Actor from the series

Each cast member really does bring something unique and wonderful to the table, but without question today's honor must go to:

Alyson Hannigan.

I've loved her for the last 12 years of my life. I could go on and on about how she affected me growing up, but I've done that at length in my discussions of why Willow from BtVS is my favorite character. Instead I'm just going to take the simple approach: She's amazing, funny, and really throws herself into the role she's given.

Runner-up: Jason Segal: Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Freaks and Geeks, and soon to be director of the new Muppet movie. What's not to love?

In other news, Nick and I watched How To Train Your Dragon tonight after a delicious dinner of stuffed pork chops. I saw it twice in the theatre (both in 2-D and 3-D), but he didn't see it at all. The verdict: he enjoyed it. :)

Tomorrow, I get to go see Spring Awakening: The National Tour. So. Freaking. Excited! Will update when I can.

How on Earth do both of these plays actually get Barney laid? There's nothing sexy or appealing about either one of them.

Moving right along...

I enjoyed last night's How I Met Your Mother. It was funny and charming and had some excellent quotables and catch phrases.

I'm getting to do more stuff at Power Packer now. One of the supervisors even invited me to come out on the walk-around later today so I can get a better idea of what happens out on the floor and next week I get to sit in on a new employee's orientation.

Other than that, I don't have much to report.

Day 18 - Sexiest Scene

I was originally going to choose the Barney/Lily scene from "Bagpipes" and share in solidarity with Otemps. But then I realized that something much better happened on a How I Met Your Mother gag reel. Since I'm the one doing this meme, I don't see any reason why I can't use it.

Day 17 - A scene that made you cry.

The scene that makes me tear up without question is Marshall and Lily's break-up at the end of Season 1. More specifically, the look on Marshall's face as he sits on the stairs in the rain holding the engagement ring she left behind. So. Damn. Heartbreaking.

> Day 16 - A scene that made you laugh.

There have been plenty of scenes that make me laugh but the one that popped into my head today is the scene between Barney and Marshall during "The Three Days Rule" when they're one-upping each other about what makes them the star of Ted's gay dreams. I think I watched that episode over and over again just for that scene.

I think at one point or another I've had a crush on every one of the core cast members: Marshall because he's a cuddly dork. Ted because he's a romantic and defies the stereotypical male view of marriage and children. Early!Robin because she's fiercely independent and looks amazing in a sundress. And of course, Lily because she's played by Alyson Hannigan and I've had a crush on that woman for years.

But the one character that I probably fantasize the most about is this one:

After work yesterday, I bought two new fashion scarves from K-Mart for only $5 a piece (they were 50% off. YAY!) I got a blue one and a black one and they have sparkly bits. :)

And tonight Nick and I are going to the haunted house my dad works on every year. It's called Terror on Rural Street and it's one of the best in town (not that I'm biased or anything.) I got a brief behind-the-scenes tour about two weeks ago and even without the actors in place, I got the heebie jeebies. I imagine the slimy (fake) cadavers that you have to walk through to get to one of the rooms were certainly a large part of that. *shivers*

"Don't Go Breaking My Heart." Calling Marshall from the cab by screaming his name. Floor sex. Lunchtime rituals. The Pause. The band playing "Auld Lang Syne" at the airport. The different beers (i.e. Aspen Yards Ale). The wedding in the park.

All of these things in more add up to why LAME is my favorite couple on TV right now. I love them so much!!

Which is probably why my next choice is made of amusing...

Runner Up: Wendy/Carl. Because it's canon, dammit!

Unconventional Pairing: Barney/Lily.

The relationship between them on the show is sweet and supportive, while having a hint of naughty seeing as Lily is curious about the sex toys he uses and isn't afraid to bring him down from a sex swing. But when I picture these two together, I see fireworks and hotness and smut. Lots and lots of sexy, kinky smut. Mmmmm....nom nom nom.
