1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
I went inside the State Capitol. I worked on a recall election. I went to a press conference for a political candidate (Fred Clark). I got hit by a semi-truck. I temped for two law firms. I went to the Haunted House Convention in St. Louis with my dad. I left a job (Pauquette) after working there six months. I started working full-time for the State of Wisconsin. I started receiving benefits like a real grow’d up. I also got business cards.
2. Did you keep your New Year's resolutions for 2011? Will you make more for 2012?
I made a New Year’s Resolution to read 50 books in 2011. I surpassed that goal by 12 (Grand Total=62.) So, I’d say I’ll be making that same resolution for 2012.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My sister, Katie, gave birth to my nephew, Jaxon, and my friend Sabrina gave birth to a cute little dude named Anthony.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not that I recall.
5. What countries did you visit?
None.
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
I’d like to keep the steady paycheck I’ve been getting since December 15th. I’d also like to have a Kindle.
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
I don’t really remember the exact dates, but that weekend road trip to Iowa with Loki to meet Mezz and
sionnach_ayame and
stardoll was pretty damn epic. It was also epic when Mezz came up to see me in September and we had a sleepover party. The day I became my nephew’s (fairy) godmother was also damn cool as was November 21st when I started my job with DVR.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Reading 62 books. Getting a full-time job. Applying for my Professional Counselor Training License.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not doing more job hunting in January/February when the promise of Pauquette didn’t become the reality it was promised and instead became a long, dragged-out process that didn’t get me a job with them until June.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
My bronchitis came back and I had some unfortunate neck pain after my car accident in March, but that went away after a day or two.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Books. New camera.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
The protestors at the State Capitol. The people who signed the recall petitions and tried to get Olsen out of Wisconsin SD 14. The 14 Senators who went to Illinois to make it possible for people to become aware of the shady collective bargaining bill that was being rammed through the Legislature.
13. Whose behavior made you mad and ill-willed?

Gas. Food. Rent. Books.

sionnach_ayame and Mezz many times over the years, I finally got to meet both of them in person. I also met
stardoll and she's darn cool! Also, doing Trick or Treat on the side of my house I’m barely on and meeting Amber and Joe (my across-the-street neighbors) was pretty cool too.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.

on 2012-01-01 03:27 am (UTC)I hope I get that Kindle too. The one I really want is the $189 model, but at least Nick's dad gave me a $50 gift card for Amazon so I imagine that'll make it a nice discount.

on 2012-01-01 04:02 pm (UTC)Although I like the price tag of the special offers one better, I'd been a bit hesitant about going that road because Nick gave me a long speech about buying electronics that aren't locked down like that. That said, if you find the special offers not annoying, I may be tempted to go down the cheaper route instead.

on 2012-01-01 06:07 pm (UTC)From what I can figure, the special offers come pre-loaded and cycle through, possibly updating when you turn the wireless on. I'm...not entirely sure how it works, but I will say that they don't bother me at all. They're kinda like screensavers.
