Fall/Autumn definitely ranks as my favorite season of the year, even though it leads into my least favorite season of the year (i.e. winter.) I love the way the leaves change colors. I love the smell of pumpkin and squash. I love Halloween - the costumes, the haunted houses, the mysteries. I love Thanksgiving - because, well, the food rocks and so does the family. Finally, I love curling up with a book on the couch. I wrap myself up in a soft, fuzzy blanket and enjoy a cup of warm tea with honey or cocoa. It's delightful.

I am one of those "pumpkin spice" girls. My favorite is probably the Pumpkin Spice Chai at the Percolator Coffee house followed by the Salted Caramel Pumpkin concrete mixer at Culver's.

Thank You!

I was outside for gym class my sophomore year of high school so we didn't hear the announcement over the loud speaker system. When I got back in the building, I changed into my regular clothes and headed to my Ancient History class where we were having a test.

Our teacher told us we'd be having the test in a room that was fitted with a TV and I found myself a bit confused by that since I didn't know what had happened. When I first saw the news footage, I thought I was watching an action-adventure film and I remember making an off-hand remark to my teacher about that.

She explained what had happened, I nodded because I still wasn't sure what to make of it all. I inevitably spent the whole day sitting in the Drama Lecture Hall watching the footage over and over again on a huge projection screen because none of my teachers thought we'd be able to concentrate on learning.

"Mad World" by Gary Jules

This song never fails to give me the chills. It's so hauntingly beautiful.

And this routine from So You Think You Can Dance emphasizes that feeling all the more.

The How I Met Your Mother Role-Playing Game via MSN Messenger for at least six hours (possibly more...I'm not really sure. Some of those sessions definitely blurred together, but I know our ladies' night thread kept me solidly occupied one Friday evening).

RP >>>>>>> Sleep.

After last night's episode of Community, I feel the strong desire to say Abed. I think it would be cool to see what kind of pop culture homage he would cook up for the night. He may not be the hottest man in Hollywood nor is he technically one of my Hollywood crushes (except for when he does that Don Draper impression *melts*), but I want a Dinner With Andre dinner with Abed. :D

No. I wouldn't.

And here's what convinced me of that this year:

There are so many wonderful songs to choose from, but my instinct is go to with:

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - from the White Album. There's something about this song that just touches my soul. I think the minor chords definitely play a role in that, but I think the message itself is enough to give me chills.

The original Star Wars trilogy is at the very top of my list and I really don't think I have to explain why. But just in case you need clarification, these films are freaking amazing!!!!! Of course, I really firmly believe that the Prequels...suck ass. I don't know what George Lucas was thinking. I really, really don't.

In terms of recent developments in science fiction films, I have to say District 9 damn near blew me away. I really enjoyed the actors' performances and was moved to speechlessness by the power of the film's message. Also, the visual effects? Were pretty damn nifty.

Sophie Kinsella books (ex. Can You Keep A Secret? and The Undomestic Goddess) definitely fall into this category for me. They are fun, funny, and have a dash of that sweet, hopeful romance that of course, falls apart and renews itself before the book comes to an end.

I believe James Patterson and Janet Evanovich also fit the bill on this one. Patterson because his mysteries can be devoured in one sitting. And Janet because her Stephanie Plum series is so engaging and entertaining, even if it does nothing to increase mental intelligence.

And before I forget, I should also mention Chelsea Handler's My Horizontal Life: A Collection Of One Night Stands. It's pretty much one of those guilty pleasure books where it's awful and yet, still funny.
