Snogged: An Insatiable State of Mind

I wish I could be more clever since it's the last day of this meme and all, but instead you're just going to get a list of 30 more women that I find awesome. Some of these gals did show up on lists for friends of mine doing this, but I figure the repeats are acceptable given the sheer level of awesomeness. :D

I will honestly admit that I'm a little sad to be done with now.

Nothing much to update on other than today starts my busy evenings. I have my exercise class on Tuesday and Thursday, Teen Court training on Wednesday, and my interview on Friday (which is at 5:30 p.m.).

What I find interesting about the Teen Court training, though, is that I'm actually doing training with their teen volunteers since they were holding one of those sooner than they were holding one for adults and they wanted to get me started sooner. Should be interesting I guess.

Finished my first draft of my C2C fic last night. It's 5,032 words and I'm so grateful to have it done so soon before the deadline (my posting date is the week of the 13th-19th).

Now for that other news I promised...

I had a very nice Thanksgiving with Nick's family and met his niece Della, who's about two months old now. She's a cutie who sounds a bit like a lamb when she cries because of the way they seem to vibrate in her throat. My favorite moment with her was when she fell asleep in my arms. It was so cute and my heart went all mushy.

I did go Black Friday shopping as well since that's a tradition I've had with my mom and sisters since I was about 10. As much as I'm not really a fan of the crowds, I did have a decent time and ran into the friends I love to visit when I come home so that was a nice surprise.

Finally, I have an amusing story to share.

As I was packing up my car to head home from my parents' today, my mom asked me to tell dad (who was outside working in the shed) to check the tire pressure on the van. I did so and my dad instantly said that mom always asks him to do stuff, but he never asks her for anything.

So when they both gave me a hug, I told them to enjoy the wedding they were going to this evening. That's when the light bulb went off in my head. I looked at my dad and said: "I know what you can ask mom for. A dance!"

I proceeded to laugh at my own cleverness and dad rolled his eyes, saying: "At least you think you're funny."

But then he chuckled and all was well. :)

Missed a day because of Thanksgiving so we shall play catch-up today.

Haven't watched Glee yet so there won't be any spoilers for that. But I'll be watching it soon I'm sure on account of the fact that I have the day off of work! WOO!

In other news, I'm baking pumpkin pie chocolate chip cookies today in celebration of Thanksgiving tomorrow. Can't wait to put that plan into action.

Not much to update on this evening except for:

I fell a bit behind on my word count goals for my C2C Willow fic, but I am sitting at 2163/5000 words now so yay for that. I can safely say that I don't feel like I'm halfway though what I'm trying to accomplish though, but we'll see what happens. It's not like 5000 is my limit. That's just my minimum.

Missed yesterday so we're playing catch-up today.

I saw HP7-Part 1 on Friday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. What's more Nick ended up coming with us (see: Kit and I).

I know it may not seem like much of a surprise for my boyfriend to join me and his best friend at the movies. But since it's Harry Potter and he tends to list that as one of his least favorite topics, it was definitely an extra special treat.

He also helped me out with the big stack of dishes that had accumulated in the sink over the weekend. So that was a win. :)

I need to preface this Female Awesome day. I have NOT seen the new Harry Potter film yet and so help me, I will caps lock you butt if you spoil me on it. You can say it was awesome, you can say it sucked. That's it.

As much as I'm not thrilled to admit it, the song "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus feels like the story of my life right now. I want to thank everyone who gave me such support after my announcement yesterday and I can assure you that this fight isn't over yet.

My new goal is to have a permanent job (preferably in my field) by December 31st, 2010.

In other news, I'm now officially an adult volunteer for Teen Court. I have my first training on Dec. 1st and my first hearing is in February. Very excited about this. :)


PS. If any of you feels inclined to exchange emails over the course of the day, I'd appreciate it as I suspect boredom might be in my future depending on how much work there is for me to do.
