Christmas Never Ends...

Nick and I did Christmas celebrations with his mom, sister, brother-in-law, and 1-year old niece and all and all I'd say it was a decent time.
I was a bit annoyed with myself because I forgot to grab the present we got for his niece before we left and didn't realize it until we were halfway there. But...a quick stop at Wal-Mart and we picked up this nifty toy from the toddlers section (that was actually cooler than what we had originally got her) and a gift bag that Nick shoved a whole roll of red tissue paper into and no one was the wiser. :P
In food news, I got a Caramel Brulee latte from Starbucks after our stop at Wal-Mart and then we did Olive Garden carry out for lunch and ordered the Seafood Alfredo, which was awesome.
In present news, I got The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot, some dish towels, and a Christmas Eve scented Yankee Candle from Nick's mom. Nick's aunt and uncle mailed us a present and together we got R. Crumb's Complete Record Cover Collection. I think Nick might be more excited about that than me since he actually knows more about R. Crumb than I do, but I'm still happy with it. Nick's sister (and brother-in-law) and niece gave me this gorgeous purse:

Julia also brought a box full of books she was getting rid of and so I snagged a copy of The Time Traveler's Wife, Atonement, The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid by Bill Bryson, The Guy Not Taken by Jennifer Weiner, Some Girls: My Life In A Harem by Jillian Lauren, The Heretic's Daughter by Kathleen Kent, and Midwives by Chris Bohajalian (one I've already love, but love just the same.)
