I have a virus after all. I got hit by a pop up called "Security Shield" last night so I turned off the computer and rebooted into safe mode.
I ran a RootKit Killer program called TDSS (dad put this on my computer after I had my Windows Antivirus 2012 Virus over Christmas. It came up empty.
I ran Malwarebytes. It came up empty.
I ran Super Anti-Spyware Free edition. It found tracking cookies and a trojan. I got the trojan deleted.
I also ran CCleaner.
But then...
I ran AVG Free (which ran a command prompt scan because it was in safe mode) and got this message:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\serial.sys Trojan horse Agent_r.ASR
Now I would think that AVG would have indicated that it put said Trojan into the virus vault, but I'm not sure that it did.
