So I have a question for folks who have pierced ears (or any piercings for that matter.)

I just ran out of the antiseptic piercing solution I had gotten way back when I had my tragus pierced and I was wondering what other people use to clean their jewelry.

I'd love to get suggestions so I can know what works and what doesn't. :)

I use rubbing alcohol when it's not gold or silver jewelry.

I use Dettol.

Old school, baby. But I find it works.

What if it's stainless or surgical steel?

Dettol?

I'm not familiar with that.

I've used rubbing alcohol on that, but according to this article I just found, there's a better method:

It's a brand name for an antiseptic, comes in bar soaps and liquid soaps and a disinfectant fluid.

It's like... from back in the days of Mecca and Anacin :)

I found it on Amazon. :) I may have to order it and give it a try.

I've always used hydrogen peroxide or toothpaste.

You're supposed to keep cleaning them? Oops. I probably haven't done that since a like a year after I got my second set.

Although I do dip the posts in Neosporin before putting them in my ears. Hopefully that counteracts not cleaning them. Maybe I should do that this weekend.

That's what I use, too.

I don't even have pierced ears anymore, but Aric has always used witch hazel or a combo of that and saline solution. He also puts antibiotic ointment on the posts or rings, especially the ones that stay in most of the time.

LOL. I'm bad at cleaning my earrings too.
