Every month, the Central office for DVR (aka the one stationed a block from the State Capitol) puts out a newsletter to the entire State of Wisconsin called the Rehab Resource. This month, my name was recognized in the Thank You section. The reason? A consumer had shared with me that she had found a job and couldn't have done it without DVR. This was a case I had inherited from a previous counselor and I had consulted on with the district director at one point while my supervisor was out of the office on vacation. The director had asked me to follow up with him on the case so I did. I assume my district director is the one who submitted my name to the newsletter. It pretty much made me squee, even though I can't take all the credit.

A bit on the sadder end of the work stuff had to do with a client I met with today. She's a client who enjoys telling stories and I frequently let her do so since she has a lot of family and home stressors. She spoke to me about her daughter today and said that her daughter had contacted her this week to find out what R and D meant on the election ballot. Apparently, the daughter thought R stood for "Recalled." My client reported that her daughter really hadn't gotten participate in social studies as a kid and honestly, I just find that so very sad.

Moving off of work stuff, Nick and I have been watching The Wire Season 4. It's awesome and easily my favorite season of the show so far.

I've been walking every day since May 1st for at least 30 minutes a day, which makes me feel pretty awesome. Though with the heat, it's been a bit harder to motivate myself to crack the pavement. I've been doing it though and I'd say it's all thanks to the mighty H20.

I've been reading an equally gross and fascinating book called "Stiff: The Curious Life of a Human Cadaver." It reminds me a bit of Bones. :P

Finally, I'm going to see a community theater production of Oliver this weekend that my dad's production company is producing. I'm definitely looking forward to that.
