Wizard World Comic Con - Madison 2015

snoggedShortly after the wedding last year, it had been brought to my attention that Wizard World Comic Con was coming to the very state that I lived in. Nick and I purchased our advance tickets as well as tickets for 2 very important photo ops. One with Jason Mewes (Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob films). I am a total sucker for Jason and I think he's a cutie. The other op was with James Marsters. I have been waiting 13 years of my life to meet this man and I knew it would be worth every penny.
This Saturday, we finally got to put our purchases to use.
We arrived at Comic Con around 11, waited in the line for a bit and got our wristbands. We headed into the packed exhibition hall and wandered up and down the aisles. We gawked at many things - comics, posters, Vinyl POP figurines, artists, etc. We also wandered through autograph alley where we caught glimpses of several celebrity guests, including Jason Mewes, James Marsters, Bruce Campbell, and Eliza Dushku (who is seriously super pretty.)
We hadn't paid for any of the autograph ops, but in some ways I wish we had because it seemed like you get to spend a little more time interacting with them vs. the photo ops that are very quick (5 seconds max). It was our first con like this though so I think there's got to be some sort of learning curve, right?
Later in the afternoon, we headed over to photo ops area and got checked into the Jason Mewes line. We learned from others that Ian Somerhalder (Vampire Diaries) had been incredibly popular. So much so that they were still doing photo ops with him when we got in line for Jason. We had to wait for the Ian group to finish up and then the Michael Cudlitz (Walking Dead) group.
Nick joined me for the photo op with Jason because the price tag allowed one additional adult. He left to wander around a bit more while I got back into the line for my James Marsters photo op. I thought James was quite friendly and he actually asked people how they wanted to pose. I opted for the hug. ;P He called me 'darling' and gave me an extra squeeze after the photo was taken.
Once we finished with the photo ops, we headed to the Jason Mewes Q&A. It was fun to hear his responses to questions and it was a kick to see two cosplayers dressed up as Jay and Silent Bob.
We headed back into the exhibition hall and I did a little shopping. I picked up a Vamp!Willow Funko Pop Vinyl Figurine and a Futurama Poster that had a fun vintage feel to it.
We got to see a little bit of the costume contest since the cosplayers were all lined up in the hallway. I got my picture taken with an awesome Groot and took a picture of Baymax because it made me think of![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Finally, we met up with our friends, Jill (who went as an evil!Ewok), and Nate (who was dressed as the Beast from X-Men.) We headed to dinner at a place called Umami. They served traditional Ramen and it was so good! I'd never tried traditional Ramen before, but I loved the combination of flavors. We also split an order of pork and chive dumplings. Nom. Nom. Nom.
We hung out with Nate and Jill for awhile at Nate's house and I was adopted by Nate's three cats...which made it hard to leave at the end of the night. :P
