Oct. 2nd, 2015 11:11 pmAfter many, many years of relying on my tiny flip phone for cellular service, I officially upgraded to a "smart" phone. I am now the proud owner of a rose-gold iPhone 6s.
I'm excited to learn how to use it and I'm also excited to have something smaller than my lap top to take with me when I fly to Colorado later this month.
I will admit that I tried the LJ app on the phone tonight and wasn't thrilled with it. I don't see that being something I spend much time using. I prefer to log-in to LJ via my laptop. :)
That's it for now.
I'm going boot shopping tomorrow. Hoping to score some good deals on comfy shoes. :)

on 2015-10-03 01:31 pm (UTC)Yeah, the LJ app is pretty sucky. I don't find it very user friendly. The Goodreads app comes in very useful though. (You can scan the bar code on books to add them to your collection.) We can compare apps later this month.
Good luck shopping!

on 2015-10-03 01:56 pm (UTC)I look forward to comparing apps and taking notes from you.
P.S. All these alert noises are kind-of annoying. Which ones have you turned off?

on 2015-10-03 02:00 pm (UTC)I actually keep the sound/ringer off on my phone most of the time (it's still on vibrate) because I don't want it ringing at work. It's usually sitting out on my desk, so I can see if anyone's calling.

on 2015-10-04 01:07 am (UTC)I don't like the lj app, but I do like m.livejournal.com when viewing on my phone. It's much easier to use than the full site (less graphics though). When entering a specific address: m.livejournal.com/read/user/*enter user name/*enter journal #. For this entry on your journal m.livejournal.com/read/user/snogged/803581

Yeah, the app doesn't seem to do well. I experienced a couple of problems with it like blank friends feed when loading certain feeds and no ability to use votes. Though I'm positive that the devs would add them in the future.
PS: My phone is an Android one

on 2015-10-10 08:08 am (UTC)AFAIK iPhones use a unique technology that gives them a faster processing speed than Androids do, but in terms of price, Androids won.
Still, it's a matter of taste, and your mileage may vary.
