Day 24 - Something you liked that most people didn't.
After thinking about this one for awhile, I decided to go with something not from Season 5. *le gasp* And I actually, when I say something, I should say someone. When I first found out this celebrity was going to guest-star on the show, I was a little horrified. But seeing her work with the cast, seeing her play to role that seemed to fit her acting ability, and finding her kinda cute and funny made me rethink my feelings.
Have you guessed who yet?
If you haven't...the answer is: Britney Spears as Abby, Stella's receptionist.
Now, I can't completely give her total love on account of the fact that it didn't make sense to me to have her be the one behind Barney's bracket problems. I mean, she seemed so willing to sleep with him at the end of "Ten Sessions" that it seemed outside of Barney's usual score tactics. But outside of the that, she pretty much exceeded my expectations and I'd call that a win.
Spring Awakening
Can I just say damn? (And I mean that in the best way.)
This show was intense, awesome, disturbing, and depressing. I really admired the way it dealt with "dark side" of teen angst and found myself gasping at all the right moments (and closing my eyes during a few of them too). I was also a bit surprised by the way it was able to bring out the voyeur in me, but I went along with it.
One thing that kept distracting me though was the actor who played Hanschen (a gay teen who seduces one of his male classmates) had shock-blond hair that kept reminding me of Tom Felton from the Harry Potter films. I kept having these moments of: Holy Crap, Draco!
It's not a show to see if you're looking for a good chuckle, but it is a good one to see if you're looking to think and cry and hurt.
Himalayan Food
I had my first experience tasting this brand of international cuisine last night and I loved it. I got a dish called Lamb Korma, which was lamb marinated in an almond sauce with peas and a dollop of sour cream. I also tried some of the goat dish my sister got and that was unexpectedly delicious.
