~Bob's Burgers
It's been a fairly decent weekend, though I think Daylight Savings Time ending is messing with me a little. It's great to have that extra hour of sleep, I suppose, but I'm not fond of how soon the sun goes down.
On Friday, I made dinner for Nick. I cooked my cousin's meatloaf recipe and it was really good...but sadly, did not retain its loaf shape, so I need to look into that. After dinner, I drove to my friend's house. Her boyfriend was making pumpkin bars from scratch so he was scooping out roasted pumpkin from the pumpkin he'd stuck in the oven when I arrived. I wound up chilling in the living room with Robin while Chad baked and we watched the last half of Safety Not Guaranteed because they had turned it on before I got there. Anyway, it was a sorta interesting movie. I liked seeing Audrey Plaza and Jake Johnson. After the movie, we ate pumpkin bars and I got her hooked on the TV show, Oddities, which is now on Netflix Instant.
On Saturday, I went to the Wisconsin Counseling Association conference. There were some good presentations. I liked the one where we told to play Tetris to combat our experience of vicarious trauma after we've listened to a client talk about a severe experience with trauma. The not-so-good part was that the last presenter of the day started experiencing chest pains and they had to call 911 and the EMTs came and rushed him to the hospital. I really hope he's okay and I was secretly hoping that the WCA people would have emailed to let us know...but they have not.
Today, Nick's friend, Kit, was over and we ended up getting yummy coffee drinks in Baraboo, got a great breakfast at the Kilbourne Broadway Grille in Wisconsin Dells (a place I've never been so win!), and watched some of the Doctor Who specials (namely The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead.)
So yeah, overall, good weekend...except for the part where I didn't get the writing done that I'd hoped to (I'm not doing NaNoWriMo. I'm just doing fic challenges). Oh well, there's still time to do my writing so I will have to work really hard this week to accomplish that.
