Movies: District 9
Aug. 23rd, 2009 05:43 pmI haven't really done much since I've come home from Ireland but in the process of not doing much, I've done it all with Nick so I'd call that a win.
But anyways, real reason for this post is that Nick really wanted to go see District 9 and the previews had intrigued me enough to make me willing to go with him.
This movie left me feeling speechless...in the best way possible. I really think that it raised the bar for the next generation of science fiction movies and not only that, it had a story that felt real. There were so many historical implications to this film that made the message all the more powerful.
It's a rare film that can make you feel so much sympathy for a group of crab-like, tentacled aliens but this one did just that.
There were a few parts that had me feeling squicked
But Nick was right there with his arm around me the whole time. So I say see the film with someone you care about!
