Day 15 - Favorite Female Character

This is another category that probably shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone.

My favorite female character *drum roll please* is:





Willow Rosenberg.

When I started watching Buffy, Willow was my role model. She wasn't the strongest or the fastest or the most fashionable. But she was nerdy, genuine, and caring. In my younger days, I'd always felt pretty awkward around boys (with the exception of my best friend, Nicholas*) and it helped to have a television character I could relate too. Even as Willow's character began to change on the show, I still felt connected to her and I loved watching her grow. Sure, I can rant like hell about how much I disagreed with the writers attempts to turn magic into drug addiction, but I still adore Dark Willow as well as Vamp Willow because Willow deserved to have that sort of dark side.

*Please note: The Nicholas I'm referring to here is not my current boyfriend, Nick. Just wanted to clarify that.

Finally, like I did with the male category, I've got some honorable mentions for this category as well: Winifred Burkle (Angel the Series), Lily Aldrin (How I Met Your Mother), Topanga (Boy Meets World), Cristina Yang (Grey's Anatomy), Miranda Bailey (Grey's Anatomy), Mac (Veronica Mars), Veronica Mars, and Kaylee (Firefly).

To me, Willow is a much more complex and engaging character than Buffy, so while the show may be called "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", for me, it is all about Willow.
