“You’ve got serious problems, Tempe.” Angela tapped her finger against her chin as her best friend paced back and forth in front of her desk.
“I do not have…problems. I’m a scientist and that means that all I have to is develop a hypothesis and find the evidence to support my claims.”
“Why can’t you just admit that you have feelings for Booth? We all know you both have the hots for each other.”
“Because I…” Brennan stuttered, feeling flustered by her friend’s accusations. “I don’t have feelings…can’t have feelings for him. I work with him. Statistics show that office place romances don’t work.”
“Bull shit, Tempe. Hodgins and I did just fine.”
“But,” Brennan waved her finger. “You broke up. And that made things awkward for both of you.”
Angela rolled her eyes. “What happened between Hodgins and I, won’t happen between Booth and you. Just promise you’ll take a chance, okay?”
Brennan sighed. It was clear that Angela wasn’t going to surrender anytime soon. “Fine, I promise. But only if you shut up about it.”
“Deal.”
