snogged: ([Clone High] One Tasty Bitch)

Yesterday, I cleaned out my email box and in doing so stumbled upon five questions that [livejournal.com profile] dischargie had given me back in May.

Beneath the cut, you will find the answers to those questions. However, I'm going to tell you right now that this is not a meme. I will NOT be providing questions.

Thank you.

1.Why do you like Willow so much?

Willow has always been a character I felt like I could relate to. I’m sure I’m not alone in this, but I was a teenager when I started watching Buffy and so I was right there with them as the Scoobies journeyed from high school to college.
Willow appealed to me because she was intelligent, nerdy, and loved to read. I understood what it was like to be a social outcast and be picked on by the more popular kids. Willow taught me how to accept my identity, how to challenge the world around me, how to fight against odds that appeared insurmountable.

Outside of my own personal reasons, I liked that Willow was never a one-note character. She had depth, substance, and a personality to rival the Slayer’s. She had great loves (Oz, Tara) and not so great loves (Kennedy). She had to struggle with the good and evil that resided inside of her. And at the end of the day, she became nothing short of a goddess. How awesome is that?

2. How would you describe your dream wedding?
This is probably going to sound intensely babbly, but I’ll try. I would like to have an intimate, outdoor wedding in late September/early October surrounded by my closest friends and family members. The groom and I would stand underneath an arch decorated with vines and white lilies. My dress would be white with blue accents (either as a ribbon around the waist or as part of a duo-tone dress) and have spaghetti straps. It would be fitted at the waist but long and flowing on the bottom. My bridesmaids would wear black, tea-length dresses, but they will be permitted to choose their own style on top.

I want to have three bridesmaids, a maid/matron of honor, and a flower girl (most likely, my niece Lauren will fill this role).

Contemporary songs of our choosing will be played during the processional, recessional, and during the ceremony.

After the ceremony, we’ll have pictures (of which there will be silly ones!) and dinner.

The reception will be larger and will probably take place in some sort of banquet hall or under tents (weather depending). Instead of using a DJ, we’ll have our favorite tunes playing off of a media player. The father/daughter dance will be set to: “And We Danced” by Lynn Marie and the Squeeze.

3. Do you think you can find true friends through a fandom and keep in touch with them even if you leave a fandom?

I think so. I have friends I consider extremely close that I met through the BtVS and HIMYM fandoms. In the times that I’ve known them, some have drifted off in the direction of other fandoms or have been swamped by real life priorities, but that hasn’t stopped us from maintaining those relationships. Fandom is just nifty like that.

I did find, however, that out of all the “friends” I made during my time at Plano Hogwarts. There’s only one of them that’s remained a close friend and confidante. But the environment there was much different from LJ.

4. Your favorite movie?
It’s tough for me to pick just one so I’m going to limit myself to five: Cruel Intentions, Dangerous Beauty, Princess Bride, Labyrinth, and Mallrats.

5. What is important for you to start watching a new show?
The characters and the story tend to be huge factors in getting me to watch something. I’ve also been known to watch new shows based on the recommendations of others (hence why I started watching The Vampire Diaries).
