snoggedDay Three: A female character you hated but grew to love
Meredith Grey (Grey's Anatomy)
Meredith Grey and I have a slightly more complicated relationship than the prompt for today describes. It seems to straddle the line between hate and love and move accordingly from one side to the other depending on the actions she takes on the show.
When the show started, I didn’t feel invested in her character. Sure, I was bummed that her mom had Alzheimer’s, but I was far more firmly planted in Dr. Cristina Yang’s court because she was the stronger surgeon and had an even more compelling back story. Then Season 2 happened and Meredith had some really great involvement in the medical cases (the Bomb one being an easily memorable one) despite all her love drama. When the ferry storyline happened during Season 3, however, I felt irritated and confused with her because she just gave up, she just let herself sink to the bottom of the Puget Sound. But then she took Cristina out of her wedding dress and held her while she bawled and I was back in.
Currently, I love Meredith. I love her Post-it note wedding, I love her ever growing connection to Cristina and Derek, but most of all, I love that last week she did a solo craniotomy and when Derek tried to step in, she shooed him away.
As long as she keeps doing that sort of thing, we’ll be on the right track together.

I can't say I'm happy with elections, especially since my own state switched from blue to red. But what I find more irritating than the fact that we put a fundamentalist pro-lifer (who at least has decent views on the economy) into the governor spot is the fact that Ron Johnson kicked Russ Feingold out of his Senate seat.
Why you may ask?
Because all Johnson did was smear Feingold and complain about health care reform. He's a complete unknown who got in through his successful plastics company and towed the party line on the issues (i.e. opposing same sex marriage, protecting second amendment rights, etc.)
Feingold was always a independent and unwavering voice for Wisconsin so as far as I'm concerned, Johnson better keep his head out of his big business ass and do something right by this country.
