1. What do you read? Mainstream, genre, Young Adult?
I used to be strictly fantasy/science fiction/Young Adult, but I feel I've expanded myself in the last few years by adding memoirs, mysteries, and Chick Lit.
2. What do you never read?
For the most part, I can't stand Harlequin romance novels. Also, I don't read a lot of non-fiction.
3. Morning reading, Afternoon reading or Nighttime reading?
Nighttime.
4. Bed, Bath or Bus?
I read in bed or on the sofa.
5. Hardback or Trade Paperback or Mass Market Paperback or eBook?
Paperbacks mostly. They tend to be cheaper and a lot easier to carry in a purse than a hardcover. I do have quite a few hardcovers though. As for the eBooks, well, I don't feel like I've really found an e-reader I'm ready to spend a bunch of money on yet.
6. Bookmark or Dogear?
Bookmark.
7. Alphabetize by author, title, or random?
Alphabetized by author. Series are organized by number.
8. Keep, Throw Away, or Sell?
I love my books so they stick around for a long time.
9. Short story or novel?
Unless it's fanfic, I prefer novels. (I'm going with
dragonydreams's answer for this one.)
10. Stop reading when tired or at chapter breaks?
I always try to read until a chapter ends, unless it's one of those books where the chapter break happens in the middle of the page. That's when I frown and try to find a page that ends with a period.
Buy or Borrow?
I buy most of my books, but during my 6 year stint working at the library, I certainly borrowed plenty.
11. Buying choice: Book Reviews, Recommendation, or Browse?
Recommendations and browsing.
12. Tidy ending or cliffhanger?
Tidy endings are preferred, unless it's a series and I already own the next book.
13. Standalone or Series?
Most of the time, I find myself reading more standalone books.
14. Favourite book of which nobody else has heard?
"The Seventh Princess" by Nick Sullivan
15. Top 3 favourite books read within the last few years?
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins, The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, and American Gods by Neil Gaiman
16. Top 5 favourite books of all time?
1) Bread Givers by Anzia Yezierska
2) The Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling
3) The Seventh Princess by Nick Sullivan
4) Nickel and Dimed (On Not Getting By in America) by Barbara Ehrenreich
5) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
