Turns out...

I have a virus after all. I got hit by a pop up called "Security Shield" last night so I turned off the computer and rebooted into safe mode.

I ran a RootKit Killer program called TDSS (dad put this on my computer after I had my Windows Antivirus 2012 Virus over Christmas. It came up empty.

I ran Malwarebytes. It came up empty.

I ran Super Anti-Spyware Free edition. It found tracking cookies and a trojan. I got the trojan deleted.

I also ran CCleaner.

But then...

I ran AVG Free (which ran a command prompt scan because it was in safe mode) and got this message:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\serial.sys Trojan horse Agent_r.ASR

Now I would think that AVG would have indicated that it put said Trojan into the virus vault, but I'm not sure that it did.

That was a lot of programs to find that Trojan. Thank goodness you did find it (and hopefully got rid of it).

I didn't see it in there.
But I think Nick and I managed to trick the system.

Internet is still slow though, which is a super bummer.

It appears to be gone, but I still don't have a solution for my slow internets.

Now I just have to figure out to solve the internet slowness problem.

Viruses do suck balls.

I think this one might be gone, but the internet is still super slow, so that concerns me.
