Nick and I got invited to a Superbowl party hosted by the neighbors I met while passing out Halloween candy last October. I'm looking forward to spending time with them since up until today, plans to get together since October haven't panned out.

In other news, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] angelskuuipo and my dear friend, Kit, I have now seen the first two episodes of the Doctor Who revival (aka Doctor #9.) I keep making the mistake of liking certain characters only to have them die a few scenes later though that hasn't happened to Rose yet. I HEART HER! (Please don't spoil me....) I also watched most of the first episode from way back in the day when Doctor Who first aired in 1963. I say most because it didn't excite me like the new ones do. Nick really likes the old ones though so I'm sure he'll be watching more of them.

:D

The old episodes are an acquired taste. Just go ahead and enjoy the new stuff first.

New Who is very fun. I'm glad you're checking it out. I started downloading Classic Who a while ago but didn't get very far. And since they were MU links, I'll have to find another source. I'm sure someone will re-upload somewhere else at some point.

Have fun at the Superbowl party. I'll be watching - well, have it on - at home. I don't care for football, but the Pats are playing, so I should watch. Plus, I like the commercials.

Love your icon!

Ugh! I know. I'm so bummed that MU is no longer around.

We didn't really watch too much of the game. Our hosts even admitted that they have the party for the guests, the food, and the commercials. It was my kind of gig.

Yes, Doctor Whooooooo! <3

I found the Doctors 9 and 10 seasons an acquired taste myself, but by now I'm rather fond of them. I just don't have much interest in trying to make myself like the older stuff, though. Old TV is such a trial to sit through . . .

Old TV certainly can be a trial to sit through, but I do prefer some old shows to other ones. For example, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Bewitched are pretty awesome.

It seems that the Daleks haven't changed much over the years though. :P

I hope you had fun at the party!

I also hope you enjoy Doctor Who. :) I haven't watched any of the original series, but I might give it a go someday.

I had a very nice time at the party. Our neighbors are a hoot and a half.

Also, thanks again for burning those Dr. Who discs for me a few years back. I know it's taken me awhile to get to them, but I do appreciate it.

From what I've seen, I definitely enjoy the more modern Dr. Who over the old ones.

I love Rose too! I haven't seen all the episodes, and definitely not in order. I suck at following shows. But apparently a lot of people hate Rose. AND I HAVE NO IDEA WHY. She's adorable!

I have no clue why anyone would hate Rose. She's sooo cute!

Oh, you WOULD get into Doctor Who as soon as I got rid of all my DW icons. :P

Anyway, YAY ECCLES. I actually think I prefer him to Tennant, but I wouldn't dare spoil you so as to tell you why. I'm not at all a fan of the older DW either, at least not the episodes I've seen, because they're so low-budget it's distracting. But I hope you enjoy watching!!

I'll keep your comment in mind once we move into the David Tennant episodes so that I may sit and analyze every inch of Tennat's Doctor and compare him to Eccles.

Now here I am showing my age, I have been watching Dr. Who since 1963 (I was 12 years old) and though the old ones are corny, the sets and special effects are terrible, I still love them. lol.

Hope you had a great Superbowl party.

There's nothing wrong with your age, my dear!

And I did. We spent most of the time watching the commercials and I got to entertain an 8 year old kid with my knowledge of Yu-Gi-Oh.

I watched like the first four of #9's first season. I liked it but I just never went back and continued on. I hope you enjoy it. People seem to fall down a fannish hole on that show. :)

I started watching Dr. Who at the same spot you did. I quite enjoyed it. I really liked Big Ears, but Tennant (couldn't think of a nickname for him) was good, too.
