Dear Fandom March Madness - Please Vote Leslie Knope

Okay, I straight up realize that my gal, Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation, is up against one of my other favorite gals, Hermione Granger, in the Comedy vs. Teen poll of the Final Four.

I'm aware that many of you (probably) have participated in the Harry Potter fandom in some way, shape, or form (by reading the books, seeing the movies, etc.) I know that I sure have so I can see the appeal of voting for a character who's a strong, female role model for young girls. I mean, seriously guys and gals, I don't need to stress how much I love Hermione.

But I am here to ask you to vote for Leslie Knope.

Why?

Because Amy Poehler is amaze-balls and awesome-sauce all rolled into one delightfully stupendous package. Leslie is also a role model. She runs the best damn girl scout-like troop called the Pawnee Goddesses.

She instills hope that small towns are kind of awesome.

She makes city government kind of awesome because she's so persistent, so compassionate, and so good-hearted.

For twenty-two minutes on Thursday nights, Leslie Knope puts a smile on my face and a laugh in my heart.

She makes me wish more government officials could be more like her because maybe then, we wouldn't have this terrifying war on women going on in the halls of Congress.

She makes me crave waffles with whipped cream topping. Finally, she loves Hermione Granger and the Harry Potter fandom too.

Please go vote for Knope!

Unfortunately, my TV life has been non-existent for the the past few weeks due to insane amounts of real-life intervention (performing, debating, etc.) so I haven't got around to it yet! I've been trying to make time for it, so hopefully I'll be able to marathon through the episodes soon. (And when that happens, I promise to squee about it on my LJ like a crazy fangirl!) :)
