There are actual rules to this meme that relate to posting things and making up questions and tagging people and frankly, all I want to do is the posting part so here you go.

1. When my friend and I became obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer in High School, it led to her nicknaming me Willow and she was nicknamed Buffy. The guys who played trumpet in the band (and sat behind my friend and I who rocked in the clarinet section) found out about this and took to calling me BuffyWillow. I still remember the day we had to pick teams for soccer in gym class and one of the guys called out “BuffyWillow.” The gym teacher looked so confused. LOL.

2. As a kid, I had a goldfish named Golde because I had just seen Fiddler on the Roof at the High School. I was pissed when my mom bought one of those Chinese algae eaters to help clean the tank and it ended up latching onto Golde and sucking on her gills instead.

3. I had my left kidney removed at age 2 ½ because I had enough fluid inside of it to fill a football.

4. I was 14 when I had my first kiss. It was at the haunted house that my dad helps run every year. The guy was 17 and I totally freaked out about the age difference. I also thought for sure that my dad saw the whole thing on the security cameras in the back, but he never said anything.

5. In my undergraduate years at college, I was a psychology major and a women’s studies minor. I chose the minor because of my RA.

6. I cannot resist macaroni and cheese. Especially if it’s home-made.

7. I don’t like peppers and the only way I like onions is if they’re inside of deep-fried breading and called onion rings.

8. The two weeks I spent in Ireland are two weeks I will never forget and that has a lot to do with the fact that I benefitted from the kindness of a stranger who gave me 20 euro. This was becauseI failed to let the bank know that I was leaving and couldn't take money out of my ATM account until the next day because my mom called them.

9. I still have Christmas decorations up at my house.

10. I wrote my first NC-17 fic in the 8th grade. It was Buffy and Angel and it was BAD!!

11. Whenever I stayed home sick from school in middle school or high school (i.e. when my parents deemed it fine for me to stay home by myself), I would watch Grease 2. It’s my feel better movie.

1. Tell me about a specific childhood memory that is totally random but something you think of often.

I would have to say that I frequently think about the times when my cousin and I would play this game called Tales From The Crystal. We would transform my parents’ house into our Fairy land and my cousin would always get to be the healer, which frequently makes me jealous when I think about it now. :P

2. If you were to marry a book character, whom would it be?

Honestly? I think I’d want to marry Katniss Everdeen. She’s so resilient and incredible and clever. She would make me feel safe and she kicks ass with a bow and arrow so there’s no doubt in my mind that we would eat well.

3. What’s your ultimate, absolutely-have-to-choose favorite food?

Home-Made Macaroni and Cheese. Also, grilled pineapple.

4. Do you want kids? Why/why not?

Um….maybe. This is a question I find myself frequently torn about because of the experiences I’ve had with my niece and nephew (along with some other kids I’ve met in my life.) I think it’s amazing when my nephew starts to cry and mom picks him up and he just instantly calms down. I think it’s awesome to see my niece grow. She’s so bright and imaginative and she’s only 2. At the same time, I like my sleep. I really don’t want to be up at every hour of the day to clean poopie diapers. I like my me time. I like being able to make ends meet without needing to worry about how many mouths I have to feed. So yeah, I’m sticking with maybe.

5. Tell me about a time, if even a moment, when you were really and truly happy.

When I first started attending the Drum Jam at the Bristol Renaissance Faire, I remember ending those circles feeling exhausted, but truly happy because I had dance all the negative shit right out of my system. I still feel like that sometimes during Jam, but it’s reduced in power over the years because certain friends have left for different things and are no longer part of that energy.

6. Who was your favorite elementary school teacher and why?

I would say that my fifth grade teacher was probably my favorite. Her name was Mrs. Borlen and she helped inspire my desire to research the Salem Witchcraft Trials.

7. What’s a product you really couldn’t live without? (Let’s eliminate electronic advices here—we know we all love our computers and phones. I’m thinking more small everyday things.)

My books.

8. The Cowardly Lion wanted courage, the Scarecrow wanted a brain, and the Tin Man wanted a heart. However you interpret these things, which one of the three would you choose? (I just submitted this as a writer's block question. Ha.)

I would choose “courage.” I’m pretty damn chicken-shit and I wish I could be more brave. This includes being able to watch “actually” scary movies to doing the adventurous and spontaneous stuff like hiking Mount Kilmanjaro like my sister did to eating different sorts of foods.

9. Would you ever hitchhike? Why/why not?

I don’t think so. I don’t think I would feel safe doing that.

10. Which is more organized—your online/computer life, or your real life?

Hm…they’re both pretty organized. I do wish my computer life was a bit more organized though. I’ve written a lot of fic over the years that I wish was in folders according to pairing. That would be awesome if I had thought ahead on that.

11. Let’s hang out for the afternoon! What activity do you choose for us?

I would take you to Baraboo and we would go check out costume shops, and draw on the sidewalk, and eat nummy food/drink delicious coffee drinks (at the Little Village Café and/or Coffee Bean Connection.) Then, we would go home and marathon How I Met Your Mother. (You know, ‘cause routines are wonderful to have and stuff and we’re so good at these things already. :P)

Grease 2 is such a fun flick. :)

And yep! The only difference is that you've never been to the Little Village Cafe. :P I really need to get you back here so we can go there.

I am right there with you on the mac and cheese...

Also, that was a truly kind stranger you met in Ireland. I am sure their gift to you blessed them as well, as it should.

He was a wonderful guy. Glad he'd decided to go road-tripping in American before returning home on the flight from Chicago to Dublin. It was a lucky break.

Awww, the story about you and your friend's nicknames are too cute! It's especially fitting since Willow is your favourite character, too. :)

I loved learning more about you, and Mezz picked out some great questions on this meme. Will have to do it soon!

I don't know if he saw anything or not. It was a fear though since all the rooms of the haunted house have cameras in them so that security knows where to go if there's trouble. At least SECURITY DIDN'T COME IN!
