Splurges and TV

Disney released their Designer Villain collection recently and I have to say I was quite impressed with it. So much so that I splurged and bought two character mugs: Mother Gothel from Tangled and the Queen Of Hearts . I also really wanted to get the Maleficent mug since she's my very favorite Disney villain, but they're out of that one and since this is a limited run, I doubt they'll get more in.

In other news, I've been watching The United States of Tara on Netflix. I'm about halfway through the second season. I'm really enjoying it and am actually quite impressed with their portrayal of a person with dissociative identity disorder. I really give Toni Collette a lot of credit for channeling so many characters. I'm also secretly loving the fact that Joey Lauren Adams from Chasing Amy and Viola Davis from The Help have awesome recurring guest stars roles. :)

Maleficent is really a cool villain. I played her once in a Sleeping Beauty play (though they just called me Mean Fairy. :P)

I loved United States of Tara. I agree that it was really well done. Granted, DID was always my favorite mental disorder in school. I find it truly fascinating how the mind can protect itself.

Maleficent is wicked badass! I love her. She's my favorite, too. She's completely evil but not one dimensional either. I don't know how they managed that.
