My mom, sisters, and niece came up to see me today and we headed to the city of Baraboo to check out Specially Hers, aka the closest bridal gown store to my house.

Apparently, they thought we should get started on the search early, which I was fine with because although I had some ideas about what I wanted, I wasn't 100% certain what my expectations would be.

I must have tried on at least 30 dresses, but the first dress definitely pleased me the most. I wish I had a picture, but sadly, pictures are against store policy. It made me feel like a Greek goddess. :) It was white with some really neat beadwork. There was also a dress that everyone in my family was thrilled with...except for me.

We didn't buy anything yet, but I'm glad that it seemed to start off in a moderately successful way.

When's the wedding? I went shopping for my dress six months before, and people were all 'oooh, I hope we can get it done in time'. Seriously, how long can it take to make a dress?

What I don't get is - okay, I assume they make each dress to order, but they make the closest dress size to what you are. Then they have to do fittings and alterations and stuff, so why don't they just take your measurements first and make the dress to fit them in the first place?

And I ended up with the first one I tried on, too :) Trust your instinct.

And When you do finally buy one, we need pictures!

The wedding is September of 2014. So I have lots of time to try on different dresses.

I tried to find it on their website, but their website only had like four wedding dresses for viewing and none of them were ones I tried on at the store.

You should buy the dress that you feel in the most beautiful even if your family isn't as thrilled with it. Something I learned while watching 'Say yes to the dress' ;)
