The stellar velvetwhip is having a birthday today and I wanted to surprise her with a Willow/Angel-esque drabble. :)

Getting hit in the head is a funny thing.

There’s pain. There’s darkness.

With time, there’s the waking-up part. That’s the good part, except for all the nasty side effects. There’s the ear ringing, the eye blurring, the not-good feelings of ouch-iness.

Oh, and there’s lightning.

Then there’s Angel.

He’s a solid mass against her frame, hard muscles against soft flesh, sheltering her from the brewing storm.

“You okay?”

She nods.

“Good.”

But it wasn’t good. Not really. She wasn’t supposed to be the princess he saved.

This wasn’t a superhero story.

This was just a bonk on the head.
