RIP emeraldswan

I'm not sure how I first got to know [Bad username or site: emeraldswan. @ livejournal.com] I want to say it was a friending meme-type scenario where several of my close LJ friends had recommended that I check her out.

I'm glad I did. Not only was emeraldswan a talented writer, but she was an amazingly strong person who had overcome so many obstacles. Through her posts, I felt like I was a part of her life. We became friends on Facebook, we sent each other holiday cards, we exchanged emails about life, the universe, and everything.

I know many of you know this, but she passed away today. It sounds like it was unexpected, but it also sounds like she died in her sleep.

I am in shock and in tears.

My heart goes out to her husband and children.
