My banner making skills are rusty and the text is a blatant ripoff from the Fifty Shades of Grey movie tagline, but dammit I had fun making something new to celebrate the special guest at
bad_swa.
Also, I kind of want to make this into a fic...or let someone else turn it into a fic. I'm easy that way. :P

on 2014-09-20 03:42 am (UTC)This is the very first time i've seen a picture of Aly from that photoshoot and actually found it sexy. It usually seemed "too too" for me (too much white make-up, etc) but oh my gosh, this is fantastically erotic, the way you've used it here. and Gunn - I don't "swing that way" , I've never considered that pairing and I am having very naughty thoughts right now! I will read that fic, of course. :)
Plus there's the muted elegance of grunge and glam that I adore. More please.
Really super-honored that I had a hand in nudging you back into art sweetie because you're incredibly talented.
Now sign your work! (Don't worry, I nag everyone about that. Tis my job.)

P.S. I think part of it is that I get paranoid. My husband is a graphic designer so he spends his life in Photoshop. Also, I never really got a handle on the magic wand tools or masking so I delete every pixel I need to using the eraser tool. It can be tricky.

on 2014-09-21 01:29 am (UTC)I realize I already sort of replied to this upthread in an overlapp-y way http://snogged.livejournal.com/779987.html?thread=7731667#t7731667
Basically my sweetie is a painter and sculptor, went to art school, paid for the desktop 'puter and the Photoshop for her photos and I ceded that entire territory to her. She was THE visual artist in the family - and I was not to mess around with "her" PS so I never pushed to learn it and I didn't want to "compete" on her turf.
Which is insane. (Who made up those rulz?) Now I'm starting to learn PS Elements 12 (she bought it for the new desktop) to help her organize her art photos of course but also so I can learn and play with my art two. Birds, stone!
But it's hard trying to not compare myself to her, never mind to all the fantastic artists out there on the 'net.

That's still semi-greek to me. Magic wand? And, is "masking" a "vector mask"?
