End of the Year Fic Meme

I thought I'd give this a go seeing as I posted my master fic list yesterday. Should be interesting, I think. :P
Total number of completed stories in 2014:
15
Master List 2014
Total word count for the year:
11,494 words
Fandoms written in:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel the Series, Firefly
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
I wrote less than I predicted I would. I still think I produced a decent amount of fic though considering I was planning a wedding most of the year and also bought a house.
What’s your own favorite story of the year?
Identity Theft . It was a unique and fun challenge to write a body-swapping fic.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
I think so. I wrote some pairings that I probably never would have thought of if it hadn't been for a femslash_minis prompt (Anne Steele/Justine Cooper). I also tried my hand at a crossover and at a body-swap fic.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
I would like to work on a WIP that I started a year or so ago. It's a "what if?" that explores what would happen if Willow was a werewolf and the aim is for it to be a Spillow fic. The first chapter is written and there's even a banner that Carla made for me, but I haven't felt the inspiration to return. I want to change that this year.
My best story of this year:
I'm leaning towards my pre-series Buffy/Angel story for this category. Who We Are (the becoming you and me and remix) .
My most popular story of this year:
Coming in with 15 comments on LJ, the winner is The Trouble With Love Is.
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
Side Effects (a birthday drabble) and my Nikki Wood fic, Mission (What Matters No Matter What) tied for lowest feedback scores with 5 comments each. I'm not sure this qualifies them for "most under-appreciated stories" of the year, but I'm going to count it.
Most fun story to write:
Passion (Rules Us All) . This is my Vamp!Willow/Darla fic that I was assigned to write for a
femslash_minis challenge. I had fun writing the dark and devious debauchery and the closing line is still my favorite one of the year.
Story with the single sexiest moment:
I'm going to give this category to Identity Theft. Though, Passion (Rules Us All) is a close second.
Hardest story to write:
I'm going to give this category to Identity Theft. First of all, it was hard to get started on it and it took me several nights to write. I think I sent it to my beta several times for revisions and re-edits because I really wanted to get it right. Thanks for being patient with me, Gabrielle!
Biggest Surprise:
Being challenged to write Anne Steele/Justine Cooper. These two characters are not well-known nor have they crossed paths in canon. It was fun figuring out how to bring them together in a sort-of believable way.
Best lines:
They passed each other on the sidewalk. Two strangers oblivious to the fact that they shared the same secrets, that they knew the same demons.
One was a vampire hunter (not Slayer, just drunker). The other was an identity crisis (one name after another.) (From "If Strangers Meet")
"Red, let me tell you something. Love is a troublesome bitch. She saunters in all hips and swivel, pulls you into an embrace and kisses you all soft and quiet-like. You can feel her heart beat against your chest and you know there's so much more beyond that kiss that you start aching for it, yearning for it. You feel just like a kid rising at the crack of dawn on Christmas, giddy with the thrill of what's waiting just below that Christmas tree…
And then she slips you a lump of coal and you’re left with nothing but a bruised heart and a bursting thundercloud above your head. Damn bitch didn't even leave a match to keep you warm." (From "The Trouble With Love Is")
Story/stories I haven’t yet written, but intend to:
I already talked about my WIP above so I'll talk about the challenges I want to be apart of instead. I would like to participate in femslash_minis, I Will Remember You, and Which Willow challenges again. I also wouldn't mind getting involved with a remix challenge.
