Feed Me, Seymour!
Nov. 15th, 2015 01:22 pmHope you're all having a happy weekend so far.
Mine's been pretty great.
Friday, Nick and I went and saw the community theater production of Little Shop of Horrors. We had bought our tickets a few days prior and, on Friday, I had the nice surprise of finding out that two of my friends from college were planning to come to the show as well. We met Pam and Tom at Portage Asian Cuisine for drinks and dinner. I had the plum wine (so good!), the Sexy Girl roll, and two pieces of eel sushi. Nick got a Bento box and Pam and Tom split three of the chef specialty rolls (because there was a deal.) We chatted about life, work, games, and TV shows. It was a good time. We walked to the theater from the restaurant (love small towns) and got our pick of seats (PACT members get in early for general admission shows.)
My friend, Britton, is playing the voice of Audrey II. He sounds just like the Audrey II on the Alan Menken OBC. It's positively brilliant. I thought the cast itself did an amazing job and I was thoroughly impressed with the four puppets that we rented from another theater group (more on that later.)
Saturday, Nick and I made a trip out to the West Side of Madison. We stopped at Ravenworks (Fashion store for the Well-Dressed Time Traveler) to see if I could get a hat for my Teslacon costume. Anne (the owner) was all packed up for the con though so they didn't have anything at the store I could use. She told me to come find her at the con because she thought she had a hat that would work well with my costume. We also made a stop at Trader Joe's. I picked up the frozen root veggie mix that
angelskuuipo keeps mentioning. We also got these dark chocolate cookie butter cups that are just so amazing delicious.
I volunteered as an usher for Little Shop and decided to wear one of my polka dot dresses. I figured I needed to embrace my inner Audrey. The director and several others complimented me on my outfit choice so I was happy about that.
I also got to take my picture with (and inside of) Audrey II.

I'm such a ham. LOL.
Today is a day of relaxing. I'm catching up on TV shows (Brooklyn 99, iZombie, Scream Queens, Once Upon A Time). I'm also hoping to rewatch a few episodes of BtVS and AtS to prepare for some writing projects.
Tomorrow, I get to go meet Feen!

P.S. Can you remind which recipe you use with the Trader Joe's root veggie mix?

on 2015-11-18 01:01 pm (UTC)I had a very nice time with Feen. Her, Vance, Nick, and I ate a good lunch at a little Wisconsin diner that was about halfway between us. Vance told lots of stories. LOL.
