Day 26: Best Ensemble Cast Episode

I figure I’ve already given mad props to two of my favorite ensemble episodes: "First Time In New York" and "How I Met Everyone Else". So let’s talk about my third favorite:

"Spoiler Alert".

This is a really funny episode with a lot of great ensemble moments. The best of them is when they all help Marshall figure out his password (Apple Cat Orchard Banana Dance 8663) and find themselves moving past all the flaws that drove them nuts throughout the show. But I’m also a fan of the table scene where they’re all out to dinner with Ted’s new girlfriend.

Comic gold, people. Comic gold.

Moving on…
I have two things to say about last night’s HIMYM.
Spoilers for 6.06 )

Finally, I’ve finished two books in the last few days. The first being Voluntary Madness and the second being Yakuza Moon. Of the two, I felt Yakuza offered the personal touch to emotionally troubling issues that Voluntary claimed to have but I found missing. I’m sure it had a lot to do with the writing styles. Voluntary Madness was written by a journalist and was weighed down, I think, by its own vernacular whereas Yakuza Moon was written by a woman with little formal education and it seemed easier for her to let the rawness of her experience shine through.

I’m willing to recommend both though. :)
