I can safely say with a satisfied grin that I've been writing today. :)
Chapter 13 of Self-Destruct Button has been drafted and will be going out to my betas shortly and I've written 500 words of Chapter 14 already.

The bitch muse (and a little free time) are back!

...For a little while, at least.

30 Day Fanfiction Writing Meme

So many of my friends have been doing this meme and now the time has come for me to cave. :)

1 – How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?

I first got into writing fanfic because of my best friend in middle school (who had subsequently gotten me sucked into Buffy the Vampire Slayer). She introduced me to websites like Slayer Fanfic and fanfiction.net and I would spend hours on my parents' dial-up reading and printing out stories. It wasn't long after this introduction before my friend and I would break open our notebooks during study hall and write BtVS fic (mostly Bangel.) Sadly, I don't have any of those notebooks anymore. But I really must thank Slayer Fanfic, Yahoo Groups, and Livejournal for giving me an outlet to geek out with other fans. I definitely think the experiences where I connected with others, especially when I did the BtVS RPG on Yahoo Groups (shout out to my girls, catvampcrazines and my_lovers_eyes!), pulled me into this amazing world and it's the friends I've made since that have kept me here.

ETA: My original pen name in the fanfic world was Hel (stole the name Gina Torres' character on Cleopatra 2525. Interestingly enough, I never wrote for that fandom....
