There are so many excellent fics out there, but I did my best to limit myself to two fics per fandom.

HIMYM: Metal Heart by the_spin (Barney/Robin)
Rating: up to NC-17.
This fic delivers on dialogue, characterization, story, pacing, and emotions. It's exactly the sort of fic that makes you believe in Barney/Robin and executes the development of a real relationship for them in a way the show itself seems to struggle achieving.

HIMYM: Five Times Marshall Takes Lily's Bra Off (And One Time he Can't) by caroline_shea (Marshall/Lily)
Rating: R
This fic has such perfect couple characterization and it's funny and frisky to boot.

BtVS: First Time For Everything by snowpuppies (Anya/Willow)
Rating: R
This fic is freaking hilarious and excellently written to boot.

BtVS: Closer by purplefeen (Spike/Willow)
Rating: NC-17
The writing is superb, the sex scenes are freaking hot, and the superb analysis of NIN's popular tune "Closer" makes it well worth every word.
