WTF-Nugget
Jun. 14th, 2012 06:43 pmI'm going to start by saying that I normally get along very well with my co-worker. Part of this is because, she is essentially the only person in the office I can consult with on cases on days that aren't Tuesday mornings when my supervisor comes. Part of this is because I genuinely think of her as a friend.
However...
Today, I wanted to sucker punch her in the face.
We had a staff meeting in the Madison office (basically, this is where Voc Rehab Central is and us outlying counties drive there for staff meetings once a month.) I was the one to drive because B drove last month.
After the meeting, we decided to grab lunch and B asked another counselor to join us. The agreement was the other counselor would follow me to the restaurant.
Admittedly, B knows Madison that we were on better than me so I obviously relied on her for directions. I will also admit since it's probably relevant, that I have some anxiety with driving due to the accidents I've been in and the fact that I don't like driving in big cities. Madison definitely qualifies as a big city, but the area we were in wasn't so bad.
We got to a stoplight where I had to make a right turn. It's legal to make a right-hand turn on a red light in Wisconsin, however, I had someone following me so I wanted to be respectful and wait before I pulled out. B pointed out that I could make a "right turn on red" and I respectfully declined.
When we got to the restaurant, we pulled into the parking lot and she had the audacity to tell me that I seemed "scared" and she said she could drive from now on.
I pointed out that the reason I waited at the red light was to give the other counselor a chance to follow us instead of getting 3-4 blocks ahead. I also said that I didn't appreciate her being a backseat driver.
Ugh!
Believe me when I say that I hope I never have to follow her car anywhere. I'd be bound to get horribly lost!
