shannon730 for the beta. I really appreciate it.
Willow collapsed onto the dorm bed as a fresh batch of tears threatened to roll down her cheeks. The Will Be Done spell had seemed like such a great idea but it wasn't doing anything. It didn't make the pain go away, it didn't make her forget, and it certainly didn't make her friends nicer.
She still couldn't believe that Giles had reacted the way he did. He had no right being mad at her for shirking her responsibilities. If he'd been dealing with a broken heart, she wouldn't go all punisher on him. She'd be kind and nice and supportive and she certainly wouldn't be mad at him from using magical methods to heal his broken heart. He was being ridiculously blind and it wasn't fair.
Buffy, it turned out, was no better. She was trying to play the role of the best friend but as always, the Slayer seemed more caught up in her own world. And it got worse when the phone call came from Giles that Spike escaped. Buffy always seemed more concerned about Spike these days than anything else. It was like a weird, freaky obsession. Willow couldn't see what the big deal was. He was all chipped and stuff so it wasn't even like he could hurt anybody.
"Will, I can't hang out with you until I get Spike back to Giles, you know that. Okay, I'll be back as soon as I can. I promise." Buffy flashed her friend a small grin and grabbed her coat.
"I don't see the big. He's probably just standing out there. You'll find him in like two seconds."
"Here's hoping." Buffy crossed her fingers and walked out the door.
Willow slumped against the pillows and stared at the wall. "I bet Angel would get me if he was here. He's got a deep understanding for the brooding kind."
The words seemed odd leaving her mouth given the circumstances of the brooding vampire's abrupt departure but right now, Willow couldn't care less. At this point, she was willing to wager that Cordelia could show more compassion that Giles and Buffy combined. And the concept of Cordelia showing compassion was not something Willow took lightly.
Willow heard a knock on the door but she had no interest in answering it. It’s not like it mattered anyways.
"Come in," Willow said loudly.
The door creaked open and Willow's jaw dropped in surprise. Angel was standing in the middle of the hallway, looking confused. Willow thought about what she had said earlier and wondered if it had something to do with the will be done spell.
"Willow." Angel's hooded eyes looked bewildered but the vampire still maintained an odd sense of calm given the circumstances. "Is Buffy in trouble?"
Willow blinked and shook her head. "Yes…I mean, no…I mean, it's doubtful seeing as she's gone after Spike and he can't do anything. 'Cause you know he's as harmless as a flea so Buffy should be out of harm's way unless some hairy, spiky demon has shown up and she's walked into a trap of some sort which isn't likely, right? She's Buffy. She's like Super Girl."
Angel's lips crinkled in what could pass for a smile. Willow babble was definitely something he missed. "So why am I here?"
"A spell. I mean, I did a spell. I didn't think that it would-. I mean it wasn't working before but maybe, I.... He left, Angel. He left and he didn't say goodbye and his room is empty and I have nothing. And nobody gets that. They're all just too wrapped up in their own lives to care about mopey little Willow." Several tears squeezed out of Willow's eyes and she hastily brushed them away.
Angel stepped towards her and took a seat on the edge of her bed. "Willow, I'm sure that you're just…"
Anger suddenly flashed in Willow's eyes. She had brought him here because he was supposed to understand her and those words were not what she wanted to hear from him at all. "Overreacting? That I deserve to be punished? That I should just let time heal all wounds? Look at you, Angel, you've been alive-well, in the dead sense, anyways-for 200 years and you're still not over yourself. You're always brooding and hiding in dark corners like somehow that's going to help."
"Is this why you brought me here? To yell at me?" Angel asked quietly.
Willow shook her head and sighed. "I'm sorry. That's not what I meant. I've been feeling a little short fused lately. Like a Willow stick burning at both ends."
Angel placed a hand on her shoulder. "I get that. But bringing me here magically isn't what you need. You need to be with your friends. You need to understand that they only want what's best for you."
"That's a bunch of hooey and you know it," Willow replied. "I don't need a lecture from you Angel. I need your understanding. You get me in a way my friends don't."
"And what do you expect me to do?" Angel asked.
"What you're good at. Helping the helpless and making things right." Willow stared into her lap and quietly added: "You can make the pain go away. Make me forget."
A blue gleam flickered in Angel's eyes and his lips met hers in a searing kiss.
Willow pulled away in surprise, pulling a pillow in front of her chest in hopes that it would protect her. "Angel, what are you doing?"
"Making you forget."
His lips brushed against hers again and he pushed the pillow out of the way.
Willow pulled away again, feeling her heart tear. "Oz…the spell…this isn't real."
"It's real enough." Angel's lips pressed against hers once more and this time, Willow succumbed.
"Your soul is protected," Willow whispered. She didn't know where this was heading and it was good idea to play it safe. If the things she said made things happen, she could only imagine what might happen. And if Angelus showed up because she didn’t say the right things and if that bliss thing happened, he wouldn’t take mercy on her. He was more likely to feed off her heartbreak and slap her across the face with it until she was begging for death and then he'd keep it up for another few hours before finally draining her. It would not be a pleasant way to go.
"Willow." Angel breathed her name like a prayer on the wind. He would make her forget. He knew how to make her forget the wolf's touch. He could make her forget her own name. He could make her scream his. He could only imagine the future possibilities that this magical spell could create and he wanted to try each and every one of them with her.
His hand slipped under the hem of her skirt and his fingernails traced light circles across her bare legs. Willow shivered and spread her legs wider for better access. His fingers slipped passed her panty line and he expertly rolled her clit between his fingers. Willow's breathing hitched and she moaned softly.
His manipulative fingers slipped further between her swollen pussy lips, stretching her to his liking.
"Angel," Willow whimpered, her fingers grasping the air, searching for the fly of his jeans.
Angel's fingers retreated from her pussy and he undid his pants. It had been centuries since he'd been able to do this without risking his soul. He'd imagined doing this with Buffy countless times but his mind was screaming for Willow now. His cock popped free from its confines, equally eager to explore the red head's hidden depths.
Willow pushed her skirt and panties off of her hips and unceremoniously tossed the articles to the floor. She spread her legs again, displaying her wet need. Her cheeks reddened slightly at her brazenness but Angel didn't seem to mind.
Angel knelt between her thighs and he smiled softly. "Are you ready, Willow?"
"Yes," Willow whispered, wrapping her hand around his neck and pulling his lips to hers.
Angel's cock slid into her moist folds, taking her slowly, letting her feel like she had control. He wanted her to feel every sensation. He wanted her to feel everything that had been so cruelly taken away from her. He wanted her to feel ravished and loved. He wanted to save her from the path of darkness and turn her back towards the light. It was what she deserved.
When their bodies were spent, Angel wrapped his arms around her and breathed in the scent of her hair. She no longer smelled of heartbreak and agony. She smelled of relaxation and calm.
"Willow?" Angel asked, hesitantly.
"Yeah?" Willow looked at him with her soft, doe eyes and Angel felt his heart clench. This wasn't a moment that could last. It needed to end here no matter how much he wanted it not too.
"It's time to end the spell," Angel said. "You've done enough for today."
Willow sighed. He was right. It wasn't exactly practical or nice for her to keep him locked under her spell for eternity no matter how wonderful it would be. "Let the healing power begin. Let my will be safe again. As these words of peace are spoken, let this harmful spell be broken."
Angel's lips brushed the top of her forehead. "It will be okay, Willow. You have the strength to get through this."
"I take it you're going back to LA then?" Willow asked.
Angel nodded and rose from the bed. "There will always be pain and hurt and suffering. I have to go where I'm needed even if I don't like it."
"And what about us?"
Angel leaned down and pressed his lips against hers in a tender, sensual kiss before he disappeared out the door.
It wasn't the happy ending she was hoping for but that kiss gave her a glimmer of hope that someday it could be.
