1. I had my left kidney removed at age 2 1/2

2. I'm currently watching Angel Season Five for the first time.

3. I can't fall asleep to noise, even white noise.

4. I'm really good at memorizing song lyrics.

5. I bite my fingernails.

6. I check my gmail account about three times every hour and sometimes more...except when I'm sleeping or in class.

7. I was planning to drive an hour and a half to see my boyfriend for the night but the weather conditions prevented it.

You had your kidney removed? You're the first that I've talked to that have had that done. Okay, I have a question about that, though. My co-worker's nephew is 2 months old. He's been in the hospital for about 2 weeks now because of kidney failure. They are going to put him on the transplant list when he turns 2. So my question(s), do you only have one kidney, or did you get a transplant? If so (to either), how has that affected your life? If you feel that it's too personal for me to ask, don't feel obligated to answer...just tell me to mind my own business.

Well, I've only got the one. It has impacted my life a little though. The doctors encouraged me to stay away from contact sports, which was fine since I'm not much of a sports person anyways. There is always a threat though. If the other one gets damaged somehow, I could run into probems.

Thanks for the info. They're just really worried because the doctor's aren't sure if he'll make it to the two-year mark without a new kidney without having to spend all the remaining time in the hospital. The doctors keep giving them the same generic advice, and they don't know what to think. Once again, thanks.
