JOSS WHEDON IS FUCKING BASTARD!! I love and respect him but geez, did he really have to do this...again?!

First, he killed Tara and pulled out my heart and promptly stomped on it

Then, he killed Fred and even though she became Illyria it still ripped me to pieces.

Then, he killed Wash in Serenity and I couldn't breathe because the lump in my throat had gotten so big.

And now, we barely had time to fall in love with Penny and Joss took her away from us. I was really hoping she would end up evil.

I am happy for Dr. Horrible though. Getting into the Evil League of Evil was his dream come true.

And I loved the song he did while he was threatening everyone at the homeless shelter. It was brilliant.

EDIT:

Oh, I love Bad Horse. I was thrilled to see an actual horse standing behind the door.

And one of my favorite lines from this one: "There's the deltoids of compassion and the abs of being kind. It's not enough to bash in heads...you got to bash in minds."

Oh and I didn't notice this till the second viewing but when Penny's sitting on the washer there's an extra bowl of frozen yogurt with a spork on top. She was totally in love with Billy. Everybody say daww!

OMG! My thoughts exactly!! Can he just stop killing people? *please*

And she was starting to realize that Captain Hammer is ass and accept her feelings for Billy... *sniff sniff*

Oh, I loved the horse too!

*hugs*

Joss is a cruel and sadistic man but even so, I can't stop loving what he does.

Penny dying broke my heart too. I was hoping she just to break his heart staying with Captain Hammer instead this is so worst.
The horse reminded me of a crazy Roman Imperator instead, he was crazy and evil kind like Dr Horrible.

I don't think she would have stayed with Captain Hammer.

I think she was starting to realize that Hammer isn't all he's cracked up to be.

The horse was so cool :)

I agree with you but it would still better to see her with the captain than to see her dead for me.

Oh, I loved that they killed her! It was sad, yes, but dude... George Lucas should take notes, because THAT is how you make a Darth Vader!

Joss is a genius.

Joss is a genius.

And after a few more watchings, I agree with you. And George Lucas definitely needs to take notes.

Now that I've watching again, the true time my heart breaks during Act III is the last three seconds of Billy sitting in front of his camera. No music, no lab equipment. Just Billy and you can hear the sounds of his heart breaking.

I should have been prepared for her death. After all, like you said, she was one in a long line of favorites that he's killed. Still, I felt so sorry for Dr. Horrible.

The credits were interesting...it looks like several of the Buffy writers had small parts. Funny!

I know this sounds weird but on Saturday night, I sat and watched all three parts one right after the other for the first time with two friends that had limited interaction with Joss Whedon (one had watched Firefly) and they both loved it from start to finish. I wonder if the length of time between each installment made Part III more of a kick in the (metaphorical) nuts then if all three parts had come out at the same time.

Hmmm...hard to say. I would have thought the opposite would be true, but your evidence says otherwise.

I have to admit that I wasn't upset about the death because I necessarily liked the character - I was more upset about it because I liked Dr. Horrible's character, and knew that he cared about her.
