snogged: ([Heroes] Sylar_Bad Girl)

I was really hoping that Season 3 would be explosive. I mean with a storyline called "Villains," I was really hoping for the best.

I've watched the premiere and last week's episode in the hopes that Kring had a plan for his characters, something that would tie them all together again. I wanted to see Claire grow up and take control for herself. I wanted to see what Sylar was capable of and if there'd be more stuff between him and Elle. I wanted to hope that a realization would happen that proves Peter and Claire weren't ever related.

Last night...

I turned off my TV in fifteen minutes...thinking "Who the F writes this stuff?"

I'm disappointed in you Heroes.

And I'm not coming back till you fix yourself.

Oh God yes! It's been like that since last season. I just watch it for the laughs. It's very entertaining if you don't take it seriously. I swear, if I sit down and make up the craziest scenario an even crazier will be in next week's episode. It's fun. Except for Mohinder's storyline. It's too much like "The Fly" which is my favorite movie and all the similarities just piss me off.

Anyway, the show is a joke.

So, I'm not the only one who was going on about The Fly during his scene with the transformation-type bit? Good to know.

I turned to my husband and said "He should have talked to Jeff Goldblum before he experimented on himself."

OT, but I'm in love with your icon.

It really really felt like the took scenes from the movie and then changed some things... like when he was walking on the wall, his newfound athletic skills, the sudden sex drive, the part in front of the mirror when he was changing. And in this week's episode when he was hiding from Peter. I was annoyed. Very!

And thank you, I love that icon too. The lovely [livejournal.com profile] angelstoy made the manip. :)

Lord, how could I have forgotten about the sudden increase in sex drive!? The whole thing is definitely a Fly rip-off.

I hate it say it, but Jeff did it better.

I know! I wanted to throw things at the screen, but I didn't because it's new and I like it :)

And yeah Jeff was a million times better!

I wanted to throw things too!

Mohinder makes a bad Fly rip-off. He's not a good enough actor to pull off what Jeff did.

I'm pissed about the Fly stuff too.

And I would keep watching for the laughs...but I can't afford too.

Aww, I was hoping this week might redeem it. I still haven't seen it yet.

...sad.

I just don't feel it's living up to what it once was.

I'm so glad someone else is thinking these things...you have no idea how despreatly I've been hoping for more elle/sylar...anything and the Paire unrelated thing would seriously make my day....The mohinder storyline is too much like The Fly for me to get into and the only character I'm remotely liking thus far is Matt.

I love Sylar and Elle. I find them fascinating together.

I think undoing the Paire thing would be one of the best moves Krinig could make

And I hate the Fly thing they've got Mohinder doing.

Yeah, I wasn't too happy with it last night. It's still just a little better than last year. Apparently, there's a storyline that they can't seem to get away from (the exploding man). I couldn't help but laugh at how redundant and stupid the show has gotten. So, yes, I agree.
And Peter and Claire: they're not related!!! They can't be!!!

I almost feel like the Heroes folks are overusing their plot devices: time travel, saving the world from total destruction, characters in the future are different from where they are now...

It's so old!

Exactly! It's been done! Why not try something original? Oh well, too bad they don't have us on the creative staff. :-)

they would certainly benefit from having us on staff :)

I bet we could make the Heroes world very entertaining

I definitely agree!!! Starting with: they're not related!!! I love my Paire. But, you get the picture...

I so hope they prove Claire and Peter aren't related. It just isn't right! I would really like to see more of Micah though and I don't know what to think of Tracy yet. And I totally agree with a comment I read, I would like to see something other than an exploding man!

I hope they make it better but I think it's ok. Not much else on TV these days that I watch, so I gladly still tune in.

I think I have enough shows to watch and enough stuff to do that giving up the hour isn't a bad thing.

If people go back to doing happy dances about it or the Paire thing happens...I will gladly return.

I was way, way late to the Heroes appreciation party in the first place, having only started watching in the last couple of months, thanks to picking up S1 on dvd, then S2. I don't know if it's because I watched all the episodes more or less back to back, or if I just went into watching with much less at stake (I wasn't even convinced I'd like it at all, much less really enjoy it), but I didn't have the problems with S2 that most fans seem to. I enjoyed S1 much more, sure, but S2 (and subsequently S3) didn't fall too short in my eyes. S2 was just less focused.

Nothing in S3 has made me sit up and go oh, awesome! . . . but it hasn't bored me to tears, either.

That's good to know

I think part of all this is my time constraints that make me feel particularly pressured to cut back on my tv viewing habits.

I'm hoping to really benefit academic wise by not watching. It'll give me at least an extra hour.
