Out of boredom and after a conversation with Gabrielle, I did a google search for my old pen name (Hel) and I found a story that I had written many years ago. There's no date indicating when it was posted but I found it at redssoulmates.com. I only wrote the first chapter but if there's any interest in all, I might continue it even though I have no clue what the original idea was...Oh and it's not beta'd so sorry about any mistakes you find.

I just want to make it clear that this is my work. If you want to verify that I went by Hel back in the day please send an email to [livejournal.com profile] catvampcrazines, [livejournal.com profile] hisui_ryoshi or [livejournal.com profile] my_lovers_eyes. They all knew me back then.

Part One:

'I'll have dinner ready when you get home.' Her girlfriend had promised. A small, tired smile crept from the corners of Willow's lips at the thought of her girlfriend cooking as she walked towards Bayshore Apartments, where she shared an apartment with Tara. Every meal, Tara ever cooked in their small, two room apartment, usually consisted of rice and melted cheese. That was okay with Willow though. Patrolling/Slaying had taken a lot out of her and she just wanted to have the remainder of the evening be peaceful.

Willow patrolled the graveyards every evening from sunset to around nine. On the bright side she had her magic which was advancing rapidly.

She approached the door of the apartment and smiled a little bit more when she noticed the small envelope with her name written on it in perfect
calligraphy. She quickly opened the letter, glancing down the hall to make sure no one was walking towards her.

"To my Willow:
'Your fragility is no weakness
You are my wild rose
I will love you forever
And this is all I care to know.'

My apologies, love, it was my first attempt
at a poem. Anyway, I missed you.

Yours forever:
Tara."

Willow quickly brushed a tear away as she opened the door. "Tara, the poem was beautiful. I loved it." The small red head stared at the two lavender candles burning away on the countertop. Lavender was her favorite scent and Tara was the only one who ever seemed to remember that. Oz had always used vanilla scented candles and that was one of the little things about her ex that she had never been particular about. Next to the candles were a single red rose and a beautiful table setting.

"Tara," Willow called again. This was not like Tara to ignore her calls. Tara always tried to be out in the open where she could see every aspect
of the world as it passed around her.

Willow's eyes scanned the room and noticed that the door to the bedroom was closed. She carefully walked towards the bedroom and opened the door. Miss Kitty Fantastico burst out of the bedroom and Willow almost tripped over the small pet as she made her way into the room.

Willow felt her body become paralyzed as she stared at the pale form lying on her bed. A crown of red roses had been woven into her hair and she wore the cute, lacy red negligee that Willow had bought her for her twentieth birthday. Copper red blood was slowly dripping from two puncture wounds in her neck. Willow could feel the tears begin to stream down her cheeks as her moment of paralysis ended and she ran to the side of the bed.

"Tara, no, you can't be dead, you can't be dead." Willow pressed her lips to Tara's in hopes that the Sleeping Beauty trick might work where the beautiful princess is woken up from a deep slumber after the love of her life kisses her.

"What is this, little Willow, aren't you happy to see me?" a haunting yet familiar voice caused Willow's head to jerk upwards as a particular male stepped out of the shadows. His eyes were a feral yellow and his white fangs were stained with blood. The male chuckled when he saw the tears in her eyes.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Willow, was that your lover?" Sarcasm was dripping from his voice and Willow felt like her heart was being torn to pieces.

I'm definitely going to try to finish it.

I need to finish "Taming Her Heart" first.

Wow...I read this quite a long time ago, I remember, so I can guarantee you started writing ages before I did.

I think you ought to go back, fiddle with this, and take it where you feel like taking it today and don't worry about where you would have gone way back when...

I'm pretty sure I wrote this in 2004 or 2005...but I can't find the original word document.

I think I will definitely be fiddling with this.

You've *got* to know that I love this. I had this terrible sense of impending doom from the moment Willow saw the note, and you didn't disappoint me. I think you'd do a wonderful job with this, and would be happy to beta it if you decide to go further with it.

I'm thrilled to know you love it

Once I finish "Taming Her Heart", this will likely be my next big project. I'm eager to see where I could take it now that I've grown up a bit.

Oh and I've figured out why I was planning to reference "Eternity" now :)
