RIP Michael Crichton

Bestselling author Michael Crichton passed away today at the age of 66.

The public statement is that he died unexpectedly after a courageous and private battle against cancer.

He will be deeply missed.

Tonight, I'm going to crack open my copy of the Andromeda Strain in his honor.

Sadness. Y'know, I only read one book by him, but it was damn good. Probably heightened by the fact that I was pumped full of painkillers from getting my wisdom teeth out and kept checking under my bed before my legs went near it, but still. Original, suspenseful, well-written. But I suppose even greats must pass so that new ones can rise.
