Willow could still remember the tingle she got when Oz pressed his lips to hers. She could recall the way his body pressed hard against hers when he wanted to ravish her. She still felt his eyes searching her soul for the answers to all of his unanswered questions.

She still cringed when she remembered those same eyes, cold and drained of life. She couldn’t escape the nightmares of his body dangling in front of her windows, his blood dripping onto the balcony.

And she remembered Angelus’s laughter the night she had found him. She remembered his taunting words, his bruising kiss. She remembered how he brutally fucked her in a pool of her boyfriend’s blood. And no matter how many showers she took, she still couldn’t scrub the memories off her skin.

In the end, it had taken great strength for her to return his soul to him but she knew it was worth it. What she didn’t expect was that he would come to her when he returned from hell. He was desperate for her forgiveness, for her softness, for her touch. She was his redemption.

But despite her love for him, she couldn’t look into his eyes. She didn’t want to see the killer that lay dormant in the murky corners of his soul. She lived everyday knowing that there was a fine line between good and evil but there are things in life that always occur beyond the black and white. For now, that’s where she and Angel were content to fit.
