First things first, how long have you kept a LiveJournal, and why did you begin it?
I joined Livejournal on 28th of July, 2003. I began it because my friend Rachel had one and I figured it was a fun way to keep in touch with my friends and give them updates on my life and stuff. Obviously, it’s used a lot less for that purpose now.
Have you stuck to one journal or had many? How many journals do you currently use?
I did have a journal that I created for my fanfic but I found it difficult to update it and ended up shutting it down. So now, I just use this one.
The reason behind your Username(s):
This will sound goofy but I had two usernames before this one. I was hel2525 aka Hel when I first started in the Buffy community and I had a second one named bloodredgoddess, who predominantly wrote all my naughty stories. When I got my LJ, I knew I wanted to move onto a new identity and snogged was born after reading the book “Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging.”
How often are you on LJ, and how long do you spend on the site when you log in?
I go on LJ at least twice a day and I’m on as long as it takes to get through my friends list.
What does your activity on LJ most consist of?
Reading people’s entries, posting comments, reading fanfic, posting my own fanfic, looking at fanarts, and posting my own fanarts.
What are some of your favorite aspects of LiveJournal?
I love the community of friends that I’ve come to know and love. I’m also a fan of the more active communities I’m involved in, like nekid_spike.
Have you ever had an LJ "secret"? Such as a private journal, a separate journal with a separate friends' list, etc?
Nope. Not that I know of.
THE FRIENDS LIST:
Have you met a fellow LJ’er? Who, where, and why did you meet?
I’ve met a number of folks during Ren Faire and school and stuff and later, found out they had LJs but I’ve never met anyone off of LJ yet.
Which five LJers would you most like to meet (those you have not had the pleasure of meeting)?
In no particular order
- spikesredqueen
- kallie_kat
- tamakin
- ash _carpenter
- rockstarpeach
The people who are most mysterious, aloof, or unknown to you on your friends list:
There are definite some lurkers on my flist that I’ve never spoken with. It’s also difficult getting to know the people who speak a different language than me.
Describe your favorite type of posts to read:
I’d have to say I love reading about the things my friends are passionate about. I also like updates on long fanfictions that I love. And I <3 seeing new artwork.
The posts that you generally skip or skim:
Posts that are in another language. It’s not that I don’t want to know what is in the content of it. I just have a hard time with it. I also tend to skip certain fanfics if I’m not in the mood to read the pairing.
Which 3 journals do you enjoy reading most?
Hmmm….I don’t think I could narrow it down to 3 if I tried.
This is the part of the survey where we get to be HONEST:
Are there certain friends that you never or very rarely read?
Yes
Anyone on your friends' list whose posts annoy you, or you otherwise just don't gel with?
Not really.
Anyone who is so fabulous you worship them from afar?
Yes…but I’m not going to tell you.
Who is your very best friend on LJ?
My very best friend…that would have to be penglii_boi (who never updates) or lokisfairerune (who also never updates). They probably know the most about me and they still love me for it. Out of the friends I’ve never met before, I’d have to say spikesredqueen.
Have you ever kept a real-life secret from your LJ friends (such as a relationship, a child, a job, etc)?
Nope.
THE END:
In general, what is the impression you hope others receive of yourself through your journal?
Anyone who looks at my journal is probably going to see me as an avid lover of Buffy and Angel, as well as How I Met Your Mother, Heroes, and Harry Potter. They’ll also see a person who’s willing to share tiny bits of her personal life. Oh and maybe they think I’m a little weird but they don’t run away screaming.
What is your overall attitude toward your own journal?
I loves my journal. I go a little crazy when LJ is down.
In a nutshell, why do you keep a LJ? How has it enriched your life?
I keep an LJ because it’s become a part of me. It’s one way I can reach out to people all over the world and I’ve come to cherish all the people I’ve gotten to know. I’d call that pretty enriching.

on 2008-12-01 10:17 pm (UTC)My first fanfictions were written in notebooks that have long been destroyed. (My mom hates clutter)
Silly as it sounds...I remember sitting with Rachel in the McDonald's playground trying to write smut and not having a clue.
I wish I had those notebooks. I want to see how disastrous my smut writing was...
My big step with fandom was actually doing a vampire RPG where I played Darla and some original characters (including Hel (my first Buffy screenname). I've held onto some of those friends, which makes me happy.
