The dim, fluorescent lights flickered on the ceiling, casting strange shadows on the damp walls of the club’s basement. The screams of the night’s kill still hummed pleasantly in her ears as she descended the staircase, blinking several times as her eyes adjusted. The brunette girl had squirmed so deliciously while she died. Willow sucked a finger between her lips and moaned, remembering the sweet taste of honeyed blood. She rotated her hips and thrust her leather-clad pelvis against the air. The kill always made her horny.
She turned her head, gazing intensely at the creature trapped behind the steel bars of the cage that held it. The creature inside the cage was her puppy. Well, technically, he was the Master’s puppy, but she was the only one who played with it so it might as well be hers. It tended to be the only way to pass the time during the daylight, and she found it a lot more satisfying than fucking Xander. Oh, he had talent, but he was nowhere near as fun. Puppy let her do all sorts of things that Xander wouldn’t. Not that Puppy had much of a choice in the matter.
“Bored now.”
Her eyes moved from the cage to the side wall filled with an assortment of whips, chains, and other instruments for her sadistic enjoyment.
“Daytime’s the worst. Cooped up for hours. Can’t hunt,” she murmured, selecting a pair of iron shears from the wall. She stuck the key into the lock and turned it, sighing happily as it clicked open.
“And the food around here really sucks. It’s used and days old like moldy bread. But Master said I could play.”
She pushed the door open and the creature stirred. “Isn’t that fun, Puppy?”
She frowned and stuck out her bottom lip when the creature did not respond to her question. “Aw…Puppy’s being all quiet. Come on. Don’t be a spoilsport.”
The man groaned as she straddled his side, digging her kneecap into his stomach. She grinned playfully, gripping a handful of tousled hair and pulling his neck back like an archer’s bow. The puppy grunted, his eyes growing wide in fear and anticipation.
“Guess what today is?” Willow asked, running her tongue from the base of his neck to his cheek line. “It’s very special.
“The plant’s opening today. It’s going to be a big party. You remember I told you about the plant? All those people you tried to save? It's gonna be quick for them. Not for you, though. It's gonna be slow.”
She flipped him onto his back and tore his shirt open. She gazed lovingly at the faint burn marks around his nipples and the thin gashes that marred his skin. Angel moaned as she dug the tip of the shears into his skin. Crimson blood pooled around the metal as the skin broke.
“That’s right, Puppy. Willow’s gonna make you bark.”
Behind her, Xander struck a wooden kitchen match, flinging it onto the broken man’s body. Angel whimpered and bit his lip to keep from screaming.
Willow turned her head slightly and growled. “Watch it with those things. You almost got my hair.”
Xander shrugged and threw her the box of matches. “Sorry, baby. Got carried away.”
“Don’t do it again,” Willow admonished. “Or else you’ll get punished. Would you like that, baby? And maybe I’ll let the puppy watch. He’ll get all jealous too. He’ll wish I was smacking the crop against his ass. But I’d make him wait. Make him squirm.” She grabbed another match out of the pack and struck it, letting the small flame dance before dropping it onto Angel’s chest. He screamed out, finally letting the agony overtake him.
“Stop!”
Willow rotated her head in the direction of the unexpected sound. She had never been told to stop playing with the puppy. She didn’t like it one bit. Whoever interrupted her was going to pay very dearly.
A scabby-looking minion stared at them with his hands spread before him. “His gloriousness has learned something very special about the puppy. He requests your presence immediately, miss.”
Willow frowned in disappointment and glanced down at the man beneath her. “I’m not done with you, Puppy.” She kissed him roughly and rose to her feet. She walked out of the cage and slammed the door behind her.
Xander walked with her, his hand caressing her ass as they moved up the staircase. Willow considered swatting his hand away. He deserved to be punished for almost setting her hair on fire. But it felt good so she decided against it.
The Master grinned at them from his throne. He looked tremendously pleased.
“My darling children, I have delicious news for you. Our puppy is very special. He has a soul.”
Willow rolled her eyes. “We know that. He’s all pure and icky. Makes me sad.” She crinkled her nose and stuck out her tongue. “Vampires shouldn’t act like saviors. It’s not natural.”
The Master chuckled. “You shall be sad no longer, my wicked princess. When the puppy’s soul gets extracted, he will be an asset to our side. He used to be called Angelus. The Watcher’s Diaries we acquired all call him The Scourge of Europe.” The Master sighed contentedly. “Has a lovely ring to it, don’t you think?”
“He doesn’t sound very scary to me,” Willow pouted.
“The stories I have heard would make your skin crawl, princess. And I would like to have someone strong at my side during the unveiling of the plant.”
Willow looked heartbroken. She had thought she would be at the Master’s side during the unveiling, along with Xander. She thought they were his strongest demons.
The Master reached out a gnarled hand and stroked her hair. “Now, pet, don’t pout. It doesn’t look good on you. Besides, I’m giving you the task of bringing Angelus to the surface. You must bring our boy to the brink of pure happiness and shove him over the edge into the dark, waiting abyss.”
Willow nodded her submission. She would do whatever her Master asked. Even if it meant getting rid of her toy. She was still not eager about the prospect of having to make Puppy happy. It seemed very backwards. Puppy was to supposed to scream, supposed to pay for all those tasty treats he rescued. He deserved to cower beneath her, not stand next to her Master’s side.
